We are due to start IVF with PGD in January. We have had two babies naturally but our second died at 3 months old from a genetic condition called SMA type 1 last year. We have tried to conceive naturally for over a year with no luck so now going down the IVF route but with PGD to take the faulty gene out of the equation.
Tests have shown I have reduced Amh of 5.9 (I’m 33) and follicle count of 8.
Worried I won’t have enough eggs to even make it to PGD. Does anyone else have any experience of this please? Thank you

I'm sorry I don't have any experience of it but didn't want to read and run. Sounds like you've been through so much and I really hope this works for you. Good luck with the treatment 🍀
I had amh of 5.3 and follicle count of 4 at age 37 - so significantly worse scenario as age has an impact on number of good quality eggs. I still managed to get 4 blastocysts on round 2. So think you can definitely be hopeful of a good enough batch to test. Good luck xx
The aim with pgd tends to be to get as many eggs as possible so your consultant will probably put you on a high dosage of drugs. I had drug protocol changes on each round of ivf, the third round was my pgd round and I actually ended up within four blastocysts to test and this was enough to get me a viable embryo which is now a 35 week pregnancy. I only had one blastocyst from the previous two rounds put together. So the drug protocol they give you really can make a difference, and they will know your stats so will plan accordingly.
I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your second child and wish you all the best for your ivf round x
I was 39 at the time of successful treatment so I don’t think I had particularly good amh but I didn’t let myself get hung up on it so I can’t really tell you numbers.
