Hi. Has anyone had IVF with PGD at Boston Place in London?
Boston place - PGD: Hi. Has anyone had... - Fertility Network UK
Boston place - PGD
Hopefully someone will/has gotten back to you via the pm system xx
No, I tried Create a few years ago and they seemed ok..
Did you have to have tests done before you started your cycle? We’ve had genetic counselling etc they have the report but apparently we need carrier matching or something?
I actually started my cycle elsewhere but I had all the tests there. The counselling wasn’t very good...but I haven’t got a good counsellor at my new place either...I think Create insist you have all the tests first, I think all IVF places do xx
I am not sure what a carrier matching is?
We’ve had the usual bloods hep b c HIV chlamydia etc they just said now we want PGD we need extra tests at that clinic as have to go London for it. But I can’t understand why as it’s not been mentioned previously...
Carrier matching is probably to do with what you are having PGD for. They need it to develop the specific test to check for your condition. I had PGD for a balanced translocation (not at that clinic) and it isn’t necessary for that but I know it is for most genetic conditions. If you don’t have another carrier in the family then they use one of your embryos as the carrier match I think.
I think they have already developed the test as it’s quite common! Number 1 genetic killer of babies under 2. And most of mine and husbands family are carriers they have the report from us all. I’ve called them to clarify as doesn’t seem right! Thanks for responding appreciate it x
