No personal experience of this, but I have read that having back up frozen sperm is a sensible idea if problems are foreseen on collection day. So it must happen! Good luck with the stimming and the rest of the process 😚 xx
Hi, sorry to hear that the back up didn't go well. We have a back up sample but didn't end up using it, I've not got personal experience of it using the back up but just wanted to say good luck with your Egg Collection day.
There's usually at least a week (sometimes 2)between starting stims and EC day. Hopefully that's time for his sample to improve. Fingers crossed for you x
We had to freeze sperm too but fortunately we were able to get a good enough sample on the day. The embryologist said frozen is just as good so try not to worry. Get hubby to try to keep the "flow going every couple of days" up until you know when egg collection is then stop for the few days before hand.xx
Fingers crossed the fresh sample is good. Just worrying it won’t be now, and anxious frozen wouldn’t be as good. We are trying to work out how many days to leave it before producing sample for EC, I think clinic recommend 2-4 days. I just wish we could know exactly. So frustrating 😞
We froze sperm as a backup but never needed to use it. Apparently frozen is as good as fresh so even if there are issues on EC day, the frozen will be there as a backup xx
Hey! Sorry to hear this but don’t be too disappointed, my hubby had to freeze some as a back up but we didn’t need it. Turned out the fresh sample on the day of egg collection was his best yet! So there is always hope that all will be ok 😘 wcs you have a back up so it’s all good!x
