Hope you’re well wherever you are in this crazy journey.
After our BFN in Sept, due to start our medicated FET on 1 Nov. Feeling apprehensive about down reg - buserelin was pretty hard going last time round, but hopeful for a little Christmas miracle!
Q - I have a work trip to the US during down reg, nervous about flying with needles and buserelin - any advice on what to do? Do I need to pre inform the airline or get a GP letter or something?
Thank you xxx

Ok thank. Just plodding along through this 2ww! 😔 x
Hi i flew to US on work trip during down reg in September
I had a letter from clinic and took needles and meds in hand luggage and put it in tray separate for security and made a point of telling all security staff
Can honestly say no one took a blind bit of notice or were interested in the slightest but like to think that was because I was so up front
For the record I discovered there are sharps bins in airport toilets. I also discovered trying to inject on a turbulent flight is quite tricky in the loo so fill your syringe before you take off
It’s all doable though - time differences take some planning though
Thank you! I hadn’t thought of the time difference - Chicago is 6 hours behind so I expect it I’ll be shooting up in toilets in random places. The glamour! X how are you doing?
I had an absolute nightmare trying to mix 3 x menopur in a restaurant toilet during a work dinner and there was a power cut!! Was stuck sitting on the loo with a needle halfway in the second vial.. I couldn't leave as would have looked like a junkie as I didnt know where all the vials where hahahaha. I made it out eventually and assume they all thought I had a dodgy tum I was gone so long!
I am ok, looking forward to my next (2nd) attempt and doing short protocol this time so thrilled to hopefully squeeze it in before Christmas. I only had my BFN a week ago but feels like a life time ago already. I knew 5 days before it hadn't worked and started bleeding so I guess its been a couple of weeks really. All out of tears and now back on the being proactive and doing something so feel better! Decided to have a cheeky glass of wine tonight then back on the wagon from tomorrow xx
Oh love am sorry about the BFN, I had the same thing - never got to OTD as started bleeding. It took a while to come to terms with it, so be kind to yourself xxx mixing the menopur was horrid ( and I was in the comfort of my own home! So kudos to you :))
The FET looks a little less faffy. The drugs box arrived yesterday and it was tiny in comparison to the massive box with all the stim and scary mixing needles.
Sounds like I will be about the same timescale for stims ..
Let’s keep in touch xx
Wishing you all the best. I would say with all the time zone changes that maybe you should write down when to do which injections and set alarms. Besides that people generally don't have issues flying with the medication x
Sorry lovely, clearly not with it - and can’t even blame the drugs! All the best with the 2ww - such a long and hard couple of weeks, you’re doing great sweets. When is OTD? Xx
Hey, no problem at all. There are so many of us on here with similar stories. That's partly how we are able to help each other out. Otd is Tuesday. Not long to go now. He he xx
My clinic gave me a letter and it wasnt a problem, I just mentioned it to security and they said it was fine....didnt even check it! The dreaded down regulation, hope its not so bad for you this time. Im giving it a miss as I felt like crap doing this bit too! Good luck and keep us updated!xx
Thanks lovely, I am seeing the clinic next week to sign consents so will ask them. Down reg is crap but hopeful I’ll be better prepared this time as sort of know what to expect.
This is a bit random - had AF 2 weeks ago, but started again today? Is this normal after a failed ivf? Never had mid cycle bleed before.. xx hope you’re all set for your cycle. Any news on dates? Xx
Usually my periods come back to normal but after last time they're still not quite right but I haven't had mid cycle bleeding before so not sure on that one.🤔 I'm just waiting on AF so I can plan dates but a little late again!xx
Thank you so much I will do.🙂 sometimes it feels like it won’t ever happen but hang in there because it will happen for you ✨✨✨keep us updated with your journey wishing you lots of luck xoxo 😘
