Hi. I think the sperm has to have some motility. But with ISCI you only need 1 per egg.

Hi, whilst I am still to have a successful cycle, I just wanted to reassure you that immotile sperm can be overcome with ICSI. My husband has 100% immotile sperm and despite our GP telling us that children of our own would be impossible, our fertility clinic have advised us that this isn't the case. Immotile sperm can still be live, it is just that by not moving they can't be identified as such. Our clinic uses 'sperm mobil' which 'wakes up' the sperm so that the live sperm can be selected for ICSI. In the past two cycles this has resulted in fertilised embryos, so no reason as to why they can't produce a healthy baby. If this is your initial diagnosis, it is worth getting a referral to a specialist fertility clinic, who will be able to give you more information. Don't lose hope. All the best xx
