Hi, Has anyone been told they need to have their thyroid levels at a certain level before starting IVF? It's not related to my infertility but have been put on thyroxine to get the levels down before starting... been on for a month and my levels have gone down from 4.69 - 4.16, any ideas how long it takes for thyroxine to work?
Thanks

Oh I could have written this myself! I started at 4.69, aim was to be under 2. My results were a little slow but I got there on 50mcg of levothyroxine.....results below. GP told me around 3 months which was pretty much true. Good luck.xx
I had a month mid way through where mine pretty much stuck. I asked my GP to put mine up too but he wasnt keen to review until I'd been on it for the 3 months and it turns out he was right as I took a nice drop the next time.xx
Mine was 2.8, and they wanted it under 2- so have been on 25mg of thyroxine - retested 6 weeks after and it was down to 1.3. Not entirely what happens though when you get it under 3- whether you keep taking the pills or stop. Should probably check! All the best xx
Hi I started on 50 as my tsh was too high and fast forward four years and I’m 150 now. One you start it, it’s usually for life. No big deal at all, I have mine In a morning when I wake up. And that’s it. More importantly I’ve got a healthy son out of it so it’s worth it. 💕💕💕
