Clomid PCOS

Hi, Any clomid success stories? I have PCOS but only polycystic ovaries none of the other issues such as excess hair etc. I tried 50mg clomid this cycle but no luck so doctor has said on my next cycle to up it to 100mg and see how I respond. Feel really down that it didn’t work. Thanks xx

I don't have any advise or stories I'm afraid but I wanted to wish you the best with treatments. Xx

I also have PCO but not PCOS. I think they may prescribe me clomid to try first (TTC for 12months). Would love to hear how you get on. Wishing you lots of luck xx

Thank you. If I start ovulating on clomid I have been told they will keep me on this for 6 cycles and if no pregnancy then the next option is IVF. Was just wondering if there were any success stories as couldn’t seem to find any xx

Someone at work has just got pregnant in month 5 of using drugs for PCOS, so it does happen. Wishing you all the best for clomid and you don’t need to go for full IVF 🤞🏻 x

I’m afraid clomid did not work for me (it affected my lining) so they moved me onto letrozole. Maybe if the higher dose of clomid doesn’t work you could ask to try that? X

My friend got pregnant on her second cycle of Clomid and she has both PCOS and endo. It can work - stay positive!

Unfortunately clomid didn’t work for me but I have pcos and endo. I do have 2 friends that have both taken clomid and now have healthy babies so keep positive if you can x

Didn't work for me unfortunately. But it did for my Best friend. She had non identical twins on her 3rd cycle with clomid. Both of us had PCOS. Good luck xxx

Hi, I’m in the same position as you (polycystic ovaries but not PCOS). I’m just in the 2WW following our fifth and final round of Clomid (would’ve had a sixth round but our consultant advised starting IVF sooner due to my age). If last round of Clomid fails we are booked to start IVF in October. I remember feeling really down after the first round failed as I was hoping the Clomid would be all we needed, plus scans showed I’d responded well to it. The negative tests don’t get any easier but I feel more positive now we have the plan in place to start IVF. And there’s always still hope, I have read of ladies falling pregnant on cycles 5 and 6 or Clomid so who knows. Hopefully the higher dose will work for you, it’s good you’re being monitored and they’re making changes to your dose.

It’s been quite a journey already and we may well still have some way to go. It’s been a complete emotional rollercoaster and I sometimes wonder if I can keep going with it but I know I need to give it my best shot. I’ve been given a phone number for counselling by my GP which I could pass on to you if you’d like. But otherwise please feel free to ask any questions and do keep in touch about how things are going for you. It can feel isolating but I’ve found this group really welcoming and helpful.

Thinking of you x

Thanks 😃 By the way, has anyone talked to you about Inofolic? Our clinic advised I take it as it helps regulate periods and also improves egg quality as well as having other benefits. It’s not the cheapest but might be worth looking at to see if you think it’s worth you taking x

Hi stick with it! I don’t have PCOS but I wasn’t ovulating at all. I started on two rounds of 50mg then four of 100mg. I didn’t ovulate until the last round but also managed to conceive and I am now a proud mum to a 10 week old daughter.

I had also just been given the go ahead from assisted conception to increase the dose to 150mg for six months when I found out I was pregnant.

I did read that sometimes the clomid needs time to build up in your body don’t know if this is true or not. Keep going though and I know it’s hard but try to stay positive. Good luck!

HI,

I am in a similar position than you. 50mg did not work for me at all, 100mg also not really. they have moved me to 150mg and I do have noce follicles and I do get trigger shots for ovulation. Unfortunately I am not pregnant yet, although I started taking my forst round of Clomid in February already. I dont know what is coming next. A friend of mine did not respond to 50mg at all but got pregnant on her forst cycle of 100mg. We are all different, but just dont let you down because the first round did not work, the second round might already be ypur lucky one! Somebody told me that we just need to stay calm, these drugs do take time.

Good luck :)

Hi I had 6 rounds of Clomid had a BFP on my last round but then miscarried, we are now in our second round of IUI. My friend got pregnant with twins on her second round so stay positive sometimes your body needs time to adjust. Good Luck xx

Don’t worry too much. You should see some improvement on 100 and if you don’t ovulate they can still go higher. They start you off on a low dose to make sure they don’t over stimulate your ovaries. I’ve gotten pregnant on clomid twice, I sadly miscarried on both occasions. Each time I never thought it would work, but it did so stay positive! Wishing you lots of luck. X
