Ectopic pregnancy?

Hi,

OTD from first was Thursday where I got a positive but also was bleeding. Since then I have been bleeding every day but mostly brown coloured. My beta level was low on Sunday 165 and only increased to 193 on Tuesday. I had a scan today where nothing showed in my uterus. Really worried this is an ectopic. Does anyone have any advise? I have another blood test tomorrow. Thanks

Hi. I would have thought that if you had an ectopic pregnancy, you would have some pain in your pelvic area and even at the top of your shoulder. It may even be too early for a pregnancy to be detected by scanning. Just got to wait and see what happens with the next scan. Good luck and i will be thinking of you. Diane

Unfortunately this is what happened to me last year. My beta kept creeping up slowly but they couldn't find anything. It was in fact a ectopic in my left tube but as i was OHSS and my ovary was enlarged they didn't find it until late December when it ruptured.

That is worse case scenario...just do as the clinic says and keep getting tested until they find something or your Beta goes back to normal.

Hope you get some answers soon x

This happened to me in April - The clinic took bloods every few days and my levels were lower than they should be but were rising so I also had scans every few days but nothing showed. Eventually at over 9 weeks they finally saw something on the scan and I had to have emergency surgery. I had a really heavy bleed at about 5 weeks so the clinic thought I had miscarried but some tissue had been left behind causing the beta levels to keep increasing. I didn't have any pain or discomfit at all.

As above, this is worst case scenario.

Hope everything works for you :)

Thanks for your reply. Did you have surgery to remove your tube? X

Yes my tube was removed. If they can confirm the pregnancy is ectopic earlier they will offer the methotrexate injections but you can't try to get pregnant for 6 months because its a chemo based medication but you don't lose your tube (however I know two people who had the injections and still ended up having to have surgery). I really feel for you as it puts you in limbo and you cant move on x

Unfortunately this happened to me .i had a slow rising beta and also had brown spotting . They couldn’t find it until 7 weeks scan.it was in my right tube . And it part ruptured but I was luck enough that I was in hospital does scan and they decided to keep me i and so d removal surgery that very night at 2am . So please don’t Ignore it if u r in doubt . Keep going back to d EPU and ask them questions.

This happened to me also. They knew I was pregnant by my blood tests and went up significantly first of all but then slowly went up in the week after. At 7 weeks baby was found in my left tube and needed emergency surgery to remove left tube as it had ruptured. Keep going back to the clinic and getting your blood tests done and keep pushing them. Best of luck to you xx
