My last cycle we had a call on day 3 to say we had 3 top grade embryos but when we went in on day 5 for transfer hoping to have one transferred and 2 frozen we were told they were average quality and none could be frozen, it seems my embryos start off well but then slow down. We will be having a day 3 transfer next time. Everyone is different and it’s not to say your embryos won’t be good 😊 good luck for transfer day x
I had a phone call in day 3 to say 2 were good, 4 were average. By day 5 only 1 had made to to blastocyst, and wasn't best grading but they've transferred him. None left to freeze. Was absolutely gutted and upset, but so grateful that our 1 had made it to day 5. Good luck with your embryos x Stay positive x x
Day four is a transition day for embryos apparently, and my clinic don’t check them on day 4 because of this (they don’t disturb them). So things can change re grading but you will probably find out on the morning of day 5 when you go in for transfer. Good luck x
Yes, be prepared for a reduction in numbers, I had 9 good quality ones on day 3 and then day 5, 4 where good enough to freeze the other ones were only early stage blastocysts X x
I think they say 30% of eggs normally make it to day 5. We had 11, 7 fertilised and on day 3 they were all really strong. By day 5 we had 3 which we were happy with. It’s such a numbers game. It sounds like everything is going well at the moment - wishing you lots of luck xx
