Obsessive Testing?

Does anyone else feel like once you have a BFP you want to test all the time to make sure it’s all ok?

I got my first positive on Tuesday morning and also did a Clearblue how many weeks indicator. Then, because the clinic had given us 2 tests, I did another on Friday just to check (and to see if the line was getting darker).

We’re planning to do another Clearblue tomorrow to see if there is progress on the number of weeks.

It’s going to cost a fortune in HPTs if we keep doing this!

I’m sure I will be the same when I get mine. We’ve struggled to get a bfp and once we have one it’s like reassurance xx

I did about 4 over the period of a week. I think it's to be expected, it's hard to believe, even now and I'm 14 weeks pregnant I still struggle to believe it, although it's getting easier now we're telling people. Good lick x

Just be careful. I did the same thing on my first bfp. All was well with the tests. They progressed fantastically. All was well at my first scan. I continued to test. But at my next scan my baby had died. On the second bfp I only did about five tests, I spaced them apart. They were all looking good too. First scan was good. Second scan was good. On the third scan my baby was dead. The tests are not a reliable indication of a healthy pregnancy. With a missed miscarriage your body will still produce hcg. It is the placenta that does this. I’m not trying to scare you. I just don’t think ladies should get so hung up on testing. Sadly I speak from experience xx

I did for the first week - but just let nature take it's course. It isn't really going to tell you much info as Tugsgirl says.

Your first scan is the best evidence that everything is ok.

Testing might cause you extra stress.

I meant to say I totally get why you keep testing - just it might be causing you stress! Sorry didn't mean my message to be harsh 💕💕💕

And of course congratulations!!!

I did the same thing for the past 3 weeks with the clear blue digital tests so I can see if it’s gone up week by week. My last test this week was 3+ and it doesn’t go past that so I’m stuck now for next week now haha x

I did about 100! It made me feel better though I know it’s not recommended!! I bought some cheap ones from amazon and weaned myself off them. Only stopped doing them at about 12 weeks. The trouble I had was that I didn’t have many symptoms of pregnancy. Don’t give yourself a hard time, you’ve waited a long time for this xx
