My husband fertility problem

I am 38 years and y husband is 48we got married 5 years ago ... when we tried to conceive and failed for one year we decided to go to a doctor ...the doctor said I am ok and has no problems at all and he asked my husband to make a semen analysis and then it shown he has a low count which was 5 million and motility 35%. Then my husband took supplements which was ( male fertility supplements) and then it increased a little bit and we tried three times icsi and failed ... the doctor asked my husband to make a dna fragmentation test it showed a high percentage which was 37.3%. Then my husband took ( fertlaid) for men . The test became better after 6 months. Do you have any recommendations for us.

It sounds like my husband, but if you're using ICSI, none of his problems should effect your chances. It sounds like you're doing everything you can do to get best sperm quality.

Unfortunately even at 38- the egg quality is going down , I was told to move to natural cycles at 38, using ICSI. Another option is PGS testing of the embryos, but it was never really an option for me as I never had more than 3 embryos at day 3 ( so they always put back 2, see if they could freeze one (they never did!)

If I was you, speaking as someone now 41 and about to use donor eggs, I would freeze some eggs now if you can and keep trying with that batch. With us we just did cycles, took a rest, next cycle, and so on.

I wish I had just froze a lot of eggs at 36 when I started IVF 5 years ago, although now, all I want is a baby.

Hi Noha79. That all sounds good. I always recommend a high dose of selenium over 100 mcgs and at least 40mgs Zinc a day too. Hope all keeps improving. Diane
