Im thinking of having the endometrial scratch before my 1st ivf cycle I might have to pay for it as the free trial is for those under 37 of age and im 41now. The scratch has an amber light to it by the hefa. Whats everyone experience like ???
Has anyone had endometrial scratch th... - Fertility Network UK
Has anyone had endometrial scratch than ivf cycle did it work???
Hi I had one with my first transfer! Can’t say if it helped or not but ours ended in a chemical pregnancy xx
I’ve had it on three out of four transfers. Of the three scratches; one was a bfn and two were bfps. I’m booking one this month to start treatment next month. I think they’re definitely worth trying xx
Hi, I’ve just had one for the first time. Had it on Thurday. My first fresh cycle failed a few years ago and follow up froze blasto worked both without one (was never offered one as an NHS patient). In my consultation this year I requested one although technically I don’t need one as its my partner’s fertility that has issues. I did it as a friend had many failed attempts/miscarriages and as soon as the scratch was offered the next two rounds were successful. It’s our last go with our two remaining blasts so for an extra £100 we thought it can’t hurt to try it. Hope this helps. Good luck with your cycle xxx
I had one for our frozen transfer after a failed fresh cycle. I’m 15weeks pregnant now but not sure if related to the scratch. There was an article recently that the evidence for them is poor. I found mine very painful for a few minutes whilst they did it and was ok afterwards. I think most people end up going for them because we want to feel like we’re doing something to change the odds
True thanks x
I read they did a study of their use infertility clinics across New Zealand and found it didn't make a difference. Each to their own though. Best of luck in your journey xx
I had it done before my first cycle and fell pregnant first time but there's no way of knowing if the scratch helped - my body may have been receptive to the embryo regardless. It doesn't do any harm so in my opinion it was worth trying. I didnt want to look back with regrets if I hadn't fallen pregnant. Good luck xx
Thanks x
Have used scratch and glue in all my transfer. All BFPs.
I had it for one out of 6 cycles and that cycle didn't work for me. Now 22 weeks pregnant on a cycle without it.xx
I had the scratch and got BFN had two embryos transferred.
Next cycle no scratch better quality embryo, 1 embryo transferred BFP. Currently 9 weeks pregnant.
My first cycle (fresh) I didn’t have a scratch and got a BFP. My second and third cycles (frozen) I didn’t have a scratch and got a chemical and a BFN. My fourth cycle (frozen) I did have a scratch and got a BFP. I didn’t find the scratch painful at all unlike some ladies. Maybe a tiny bit of cramping afterwards. What did happen was that AF arrived a few days early and was the heaviest I have ever had - huge clots came out (sorry for TMI). It felt a bit like my uterus was having a clear out. On my last cycle my tummy felt quite tight throughout it too, even before transfer. I have no idea whether the scratch caused any of this or contributed to the BFP. For me, I just felt it was time to try something different with this cycle. Good luck with whatever you decide.
