So I had a failed FET last month, I transferred one 5AA blasto and unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. Onward and upwards I am prepping for my next round. I have 5 frozen embryos left stored.
With my successful first FET, I transferred two 5AA and have my daughter Betsy who is now 21 months old. My doctor has suggested doing what we did the first time and transferring 2 and using embryo glue; we did this first time too. She also mentioned an endo scratch? Does anyone have experience with an endo scratch and successful FET? I am not too sure on it. It’s also an extra £400 😩
I still really am in two minds about transferring two as well. I would absolutely love a second baby, and a sibling for my daughter and twins I can imagine would be wonderful, my mum is a twin and the bond js amazing I just worry about how HARD it is!
Any tips/advice welcome!

Hello hun, I had the endo scratch before my successful FET, I also had/did a lot of other things (including ERA and steroids for nk cells) so it's hard to know if the scratch made a difference, but it definitely doesn't seem to have been a bad thing at least.
Had an endometrial scratch this time round and currently 15+2. Was on a different drug protocol this time to my unsuccessful FET (modified natural as opposed to fully medicated) so can't say if the scratch alone helped or not but certainly didn't hinder. Also, transferred 2 lower grade embryos but singleton pregnancy, so am very glad they put back 2.
Hi Lucyhannah. Have a look at the HFEA website re "treatments add-ons" hfea.gov.uk it might help to make up your mind. If you go for a double transfer and they both implant, ye, it will be hard work, but it does ease after a while. Lots to think about, but I do wish you all the best and for success this time, whatever you do decide. Diane
Hello Lucyhannah1,I had an endometrial scratch in the past but it didn't help in my case. It was with great quality blast.
Also, we had an embryo glue on all the transfers but I only have 1 child (and early miscarried twice). Embryo glue is free and standard procedure at my clinic for some time now.
I actually believe that it's just a number game and it's down to one healthy embryo, and sometimes, no matter what we will do differently, if the embryo is not strong enough, it won't implant.
Hi Lucyhannah, I had a scratch this time round and am currently 9+2. It was not a pleasant experience I bleed quite a bit during the procedure and afterwards the nurse had told me just before going in it was very rare for someone to bleed and would just be a little uncomfortable. Not sure if the scratch helped as I added different meds this time round had more eggs and embryos than on pervious cycles so not sure if the scratch impacted my outcome. Sorry that's not very helpful.
Hey, I had the scratch before my fresh cycle. For me, it was extremely painful and I 100% wouldn’t have it again but I have endo so not sure if that’s why it hurt so bad. My first transfer was a success but not sure how much the scratch helped. It’s completely your decision but wanted to give my experience in case it’s similar for you. Sending you lots of love whatever you decide to do ❤️
Hi Lucy. I had a (in my opinion, hideously painful) scratch for all 6 of my failed cycles. My seventh cycle resulted in my son, and I didn't have the scratch. I wouldn't bother!
