Why am I not having positives on non-digital tests but positives on digital?

Hello,

My two week wait is over and I’ve had too positive results on he digital tests. The only thing is, I had very faint lines originally on the normal non digital tests and on my otd, I had two positive digitals and all negative normal tests, from the same sample of urine.

I’m confused and can’t get excited incase things aren’t going to pan out well. Any advice would be great please. The clinic told me not to test again because the digital was positive, but I think something is up.

Hi lovely, the digital tests are much more sensitive at detecting the HCG in your urine than the cheapy 2 line jobbies. If you're concerned, ask for an HCG blood test that should be repeated in 48 hours to check the levels are rising. You could also repeat the home pregnancy test in a week to see if there is any change. Blood test will confirm your pregnancy though. Wish you all the best! xx

What tests did you use? First response early detector is an excellent non digital test and v sensitive to the tiniest hcg xxx

I haven’t used that one, I’ve used a few different brands but not sure they’ve been the early detection ones actually. I’ll go and buy some of those. Thank you x

I’m sure you’ll get a positive reading with a Frer but blood tests are the best method to ensure hcg is doubling within 48hrs. Best of luck but you’ll be fine ☺️🙏🏼Xxx
