Digital test playing games ?!

hello, another question from me regarding tests - digital this time !

I am 20DP5DT & this evening I decided to a FRER digital, having not done one before I took the test out the package and just dipped it into the pot & waited for ages for the timer to show. When it did it then took ages to give me a result which was negative. I didn’t realise that a fixed clock had to be on the test screen pre testing for it to be valid.

I had another FRER digital so took it out the pack & waited 10 mins or so for the fixed clock to show, dipped & then the test showed positive.

I did a bit of reading, and ended up opening the two tests with a knife and one didn’t have a 2nd line and the other partial.

All of my other tests have been super strong - my clear blue & FRER non digital have been darker than the control line.

Adding pics of my daily tests (top evening bottom morning) - I had a chemical pregnancy in august, I never got this far but am so worried about the results I’ve had this evening

Thank you - it almost feels too good to be true & my anxiety today before those digital tests was heightened and then when they happened 🤯 I’ve read so much about the digitals and am yet to have a positive experience they always seem to have an error or not work !

I have never seen a first response digital test on sale before, only clear blue and the little timer shows on those after about 10seconds of either dipping it in or peeing on it. If it’s like the clearblue one the stick is really wide so you need to a have a pot where you can dip the whole thing in up to the top for the timer to start to appear (not just the top of it) or just pee on it but you do need to have held for a while to get enough urine and make sure you don’t get the actual test wet if you can. Ive messed up a couple of digital ones over the years this way!

As all the other tests looking positive I wouldn’t worry about the digital one though 🤗 xx

Thank you, the FRER digital was in a pack of 3 I bought on Amazon. Apparently you aren’t supposed to use it until the clock shows fixed on the screen & opening the packet triggers the clock to show. But I didn’t know that on the 1st test 🫠 and the screen was blank when I used it. I’ve done 3 tests this morning, all strong positives. I’m just so scared something will happen ☹️ x

must be a new type of test I thought I’d tried them all 🤣 I am always most scared after a BFP the scan wait is the longest one and I have been so anxious a few times but it’s probably about the point pregnancy tests aren’t really that useful anyways for you now they don’t Get much darker than they are now so it doesn’t really tell you anything other than pregnant, hopefully not too long now until your scan 🤗 xx

Yes, I have noticed that my lines are pretty dark, some darker than the control and at that point obviously not getting darker but I feel like if I don’t test in the morning I’ll jinx something. It’s so silly. My scan is next Friday and I will be 7wks at that point - I have read a couple of your posts and so sorry to hear of your loses 🤍 such a tricky thing to navigate isn’t it. Comparing and looking for information you can relate to or apply to your situation is quite literally 🤯 x

Thank you, It can really mess with your head! Endless googling and overthinking! Try to remember you can only take one day at a time and right now everything is absolutely perfect 🤗 test if it helps you (it defo did me!) but I did find a wee break from testing at least every day was good too! Good luck for Friday and keep us updated 🤗💜 xx

Thanks so much, I have just spoken to one of the nurses at my clinic who’s basically told me to chill out 😂 she’s said to stay away from all digital and just use the traditional pink line tests if I must & to just like you say have a break from testing. We have a nice weekend planned and are away next week before the test so once I’m out of my stressful work environment I’ll be sure to try and slow down as that doesn’t help either x will update when I have had the scan 🤞🏼🙏🏼

Hi Kate, it is so easy to get caught up in these tests, looking at line progression. My best advice I can give you is STOP. TESTING! You are pregnant. Don't give yourself any more anxiety. You'll be far less anxious when you stop testing, I assure you. Set yourself a challenge of not testing for five days. Start there.

The tests make it worse. Also you can't easily get FRER in the UK because they were recalled. So please take any result with one with a pinch of salt.

Congratulations and best of luck! xxx

So true, continuous testing is anxiety on top of anxiety isn’t it ! I didn’t realise that FRER were recalled but I did notice that you can’t readily get them here. Thank you so much for your reply x

I had a really similar strip test progression to you. I’ve not used the FRER tests but the digital clearblue ones were inaccurate date wise for me and I got really hung up on it too but the clinic gave me a 7 week scan and by 8 weeks it was all looking good (and I’m 12 weeks today!) so try and hold out till your viability scan! Best of luck xx
