My clinic didn’t give me a trigger shot before my ET is that normal?

I’m really worried i just realised that my clinic didn’t check my levels or give me a blood test or give my a boost shot, before ET is that normal?

Trigger shots are what make your eggs ripen so you don’t need this before an embryo transfer. Maybe if you add a little more detail about exactly what protocol you are on, more people will be able to let you know if your experience is normal. Eg short or long protocol, fresh or frozen transfer?

Ok thanks I’m on my 2 ww had frozen transfer on Tuesday using donor eggs, I remember them sayingon the phone that they would check my levels before the transfer and may need to give me extra drugs but then on transfers day I was so nervous I forgot to ask and the test was never offered, so now I’m worried they forgot too and I should have had a test to check my levels!

Hi there, I think I would ring the nurses at your clinic in the morning and have a chat with them about it to help relieve your anxiety.

I had a donor egg cycle back in February and it was basically the same protocol as a FET. I had no blood tests/ additional drugs at time of ET, just continued with medication on my original prescription.

Please try not to worry and let your clinic advise you tomorrow. Hoping all will be ok for you xx

Thank you I will call them in the morning, do u mind me asking how your treatment went?

Don’t mind at all. Sadly we didn’t have success. We had poor thaw rate and fertilisation rate with frozen donor eggs. Two embryos transferred but no pregnancy. Thankfully having another shot with a further batch of donor eggs due to the clinic’s embryo guarantee which wasn’t achieved in February. Hopefully in the Autumn xx

We had 6 eggs 4 fertilised only one of good quality and a low quality in the freezer we have no more money so all my hopes are on this one embryo, good luck for the autumn xxx

They probably didn’t mean it would be a trigger shot as that’s what you get during a fresh cycle using your own eggs, to tell the eggs it’s time to be released- similar to the natural hormone produced in our own monthly cycles . What they may have been referring to is a shot of progesterone to give this a boost, which I had because I’m prone to bleeding and had a funny reaction to the contraceptive before the FET so they wanted to be cautious with me. Please don’t worry as I’m sure they’ve handled it best way you needed based on your protocol. I am now 13 weeks pregnant with a donor egg; sending lots of positive vibes 🤞🏼💜

I had de no trigger shot, just a check of my lining a few days before the transfer

I didn't have a trigger shot but they did Check my hormone levels and I needed an additional injection that I took till week 12. Check with your clinic but try not to worry (easier said than done) and good luck 😊😊 x x
