Hi I stopped taking norethisterone on the 31st of May and got my period yesterday the 5th of June. Today I started flooding, I’ve never experienced anything like it, it started in the supermarket, thankfully I had a maxi dress on so dumped the trolly and came home.
I rang the clinic and they said to go to the hospital if it’s really heavy and life threatening. I don’t think it’s life threatening but the doctor didn’t explain why I was bleeding so heavily. Has anybody me else experience this? The doctor said I should still start my injections tonight as he said it would help stem the bleeding.
Has anyone experienced this?

No experience of this but I wanted to say how sorry I am that you are suffering. For different reasons ( I have endometriosis) to you I have horrible periods which make me flood and I’ve had to leg it home on many occasions . It’s truly awful.
What is your doctor defining as “heavy”? You need to know in case you need to go to A & E. Personally I’d edge in the side of caution. Hope you feel better soon. xoxo
Thanks for your support Jess. Doctor said to monitor for a few hours to see if it slows down. I don’t know how you cope if this is a regular occurrence for you. I’ve got nothing done and I’ve just created more mess! X
Luckily I’ve now been issued with mefenamic and tranexamic acid and they have slowed my periods down life saver 😀👍there is so little I can take for endo with TTC it’s a bit tricky.
Keep counting how pads you are changing and if you are at all worried call them. They won’t mind. 👍Fingers crossed it slows down. 🤞🏻 rest up and let other half spoil you 😏 xoxo
No experience but to help judge, when miscarrying they told me that filling a pad in two hours or less meant I needed hospital treatment, I don’t know if that will help you judge whether you need treatment or not? Xx
