Feeling Lost

Hi everyone,

I haven’t been on much for the last three months after our third round of icsi failed. So firstly congratulations to all those who have had their baby or those who got their long awaited for bfp and sorry to all those who have suffered a loss.

The reason for my post is I feel lost in a sea of forms. After a 3 month break I am completing all the forms for what could be potentially our next round. We are now self funding and have booked two consultations tomorrow for new clinics. I feel so nervous for what lays ahead. My partner has had further in depth sperm tests which we paid for privately and the results don’t look good from what we can understand of them. Should I be excited for what lays ahead?

All I know is we want a family together and will do what ever it takes to achieve our dream xxx

Hi Katrina, yes it's so hard but also yes, you should be excited because you've still got a chance to try again. Average success is 3 cycles, so some take less and some more. Are you staying with the same clinic? They learn more about you both each time, so can suggest different options to help you. Have you had any counselling? It can help you feel more positive, but whatever works for you - yoga, acupuncture. I was lucky enough to get voluntary redundancy from my stressful job, and am now 10 weeks from my 4th cycle of ICSI. Although they changed my protocol, I definitely think that being more relaxed helped too. Bad sperm results are not necessarily a problem as they only need a few out of millions for ICSI. Hi Katrina1986. I was so moved to see how close you both are. This is the biggest percentage of the battle. Maybe a slightly different drug regime or protocol will be tried this time round. Huge luck and I shall be thinking of you both. Diane
