The doc has given me anti depressants shall I take them? What about my treatment although I don’t think that’s gonna happen anymore give the last sperm results, we were going to use egg donors so I’m guessing it’s less important for me to not take them but I guess I’m still holding on to the glimmer of hope that we may still be able to go ahead with possible Treatment.
I think it really depends what he has prescribed you ! I was on sertraline 50mg and my GP has told me to stop them when I told that I’ll fertility treatment. So I did ! Speak to the GP again.. and depending on what you taking it for , try alternatives. In my case anxiety .. I take Vitamine D and walk a lot as this will release happy hormons .. but everyone is different
I'm currently on mirtazapine and my doctor advised it would do more harm then good coming off them. Ivf is a very hard emotional rollercoaster and anxiety/depression/stress is not good while trying to conceive or being pregnant. The clinic agree with my doctor, so I'm just in a low dose. Maybe talk to your clinic if you are concerned. I wish you all the best xxx
Many antidepressants are used during pregnancy (including sertaline, mirtazapine and fluoxetine). I hope you can build up trust with your GP to discuss this in more detail. No one really knows what you are going through and I would hate for someone to put you off something that may be really helpful for you. X
Hi Myhope, I’m on citalopram 10mg (low dose) and I couldn’t be without it. I was on sertraline but they wanted me to swap it because they said it was safer. Hope you get what you need from the doctors x
