Egg collection- Tuesday 15th ♥️

Hi all,

Day 10 scan today showed 16-17 follicles, most measuring about 13-18mm! So relieved! We are triggering on Sunday at 9pm with EC on Tuesday at 9am.

Any advice for egg collection, the transfer or implantation please?

Eeeeek it's really nearly here now. All I know to advice is pineapple core a slice a day for 5 days post transfer and straight after transfer have some McDonald fries.

There's something in them that supposed to help and the bromelain in the pineapple core is supposed to aid implantation

No I don’t feel any different but I feel really heavy like you said and aching all over. I had 9 hours sleep and I still feel shattered x

I too heard about the fries 🍟 and scoffed 2 portions on the way home .... 😂... great news on your follicles sounds like everythings going well .... plenty of rest after egg collection know its hard but try and think positive... wishing you lots of luck 🍀 Xxx

So exciting, lots of luck for Tuesday! After EC lots of water and rest up. I to have heard for after ET about fries recently, also pineapple core for 5 days xx

That's exciting Rach - well done! After EC - rest, rest, rest! Are you going under sedation? My EC was straightforward but I was tired when I got home and wish I'd slept it off a bit as I felt a bit groggy. Also, drink lots of water.

After ET I ate McDonald's fries, then for the 5 days that followed I drank beet juice and had a handful of Brazil nuts. Both are really healthy so if nothing else you're getting all kinds of goodness into your body which can only be a good thing.

McDonald's fries used to be eaten after EC because the salt would absorb excess fluid and could help with OHSS but everyone does it after ET now, not 100% sure why.

I fell pregnant that cycle so none of it did me any harm!

No hot bath after transfer, no hot water bottles and take it easy ...not heard about McDonald's fries before tho but hey I guess it can't hurt. Good luck xx 🤞

That’s great news I’m new to all this and starting treatment shortly. How long did you have to do injections before ET? Xx

It will be 4 weeks to the day that we have our egg collection. 2 weeks of buserelin to down reg and then 12 days of bemfola as well to stim. How are you feeling? Xx

Thanks Rach for replying. I’m just starting to get impatient to be honest! I just want to get the injections started. I’m not the most patient person! My next appointment is to decide what protocol I’ve to go on. Hoping I can start my injections soon after that. How have you managed to keep sane over the last few months? Xx

I only had 10 days of injections - 10 days of menopur on day 6 I started cetrotide aswell and then I did my ovritrelle on last day which was tonight. Going in for EC Monday x

That’s really quick. I take it everyone is different depending on the circumstances. Was that the short protocol? I have endometriosis and been on contraceptive since jan. I was hoping I might be short protocol. How you feeling about your ET? X

I’m not sure. I’m having ICSI . It’s all been really quick tbh, I had my first consultation end of jan ( we are private so paying ) and going in Monday for EC . Started my injections 2 May I think it was. I’m assuming everyone is different. I have PCOS . I feel ok about it as I’m trying not to think about it. I am nervous thou I’m just praying all goes ok x
