Pain since egg collection yesterday..

Just looking for reassurance or if I should contact the hospital. So yesterday I had egg collection which was a very painful experience for me and I would describe myself as someone with a high pain threshold. I was over stimmed so won't be suitable for the transfer. I couldn't sleep last night, I was in pain before I left the hospital, which they knew about. I can't touch my tummy, can't stand up straight and any wee or bowel movement hurts. I also have indigestion! I hate hospitals so I have to be so ill before I will pick up the phone. Can i wait this out a bit longer or should i ring the clinic?

Thank you for any advice xx

I think you should ring the clinic hun! Just to be on the safe side. Even though mine was only a few weeks ago, I can't really remember what I was like after. I was uncomfortable and weeing did hurt a bit, like achey when it was coming out. But if you ring them, then at least they will be able to put your mind at rest.

Hope you feel better soon xx

Hello. I had egg collection a week ago and had mild OHSS. I still have some pain a week on, turns out it’s to be expected that you will be ill for a while. I spoke to the on call doctor a couple times and they said if I started to vomit, got a temperature or my urine output reduced or became dark- thats hospital time. Your embryologist should call today about your little eggies so have a chat with them x

My daughter was in agony when she had egg collection this time, never had any trouble before. They phoned the hospital and they told her to take rennie and pain killers. That was nearly 4 weeks ago and the bloating only went down at the weekend. Phone the hospital for reassurance though xx

Please call the clinic for advice. Like me, you were over stimmed and i felt like I was run over by a bus...literally I felt like I couldn’t breathe and was convinced it was the anaesthetic but it wasn’t. I was in a lot of pain that eased up within a week. My second egg collection I was dreading beyong words but because I produced 10 less eggs I was only in mild discomfort which passed quickly. Take the recommended pain killers, have lots of protein (whey shakes, anything) as my Consultant said it heals the ovaries), rest (as if you can do anything anyway) and sip water throughout the day. I promise you’ll feel better in a few days xxx

Hope you feel better soon but would also advise that you call and let them know about your pain so that you can be monitored x
