Day 1 post surgery...

... and I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus!

I’m so tired! I had to stay in last night because I didn’t pass enough urine to go home!

The surgeon was happy with the op, she said that I had no endometriosis, my tubes were patent and clear, she took a biopsy from my uterus/womb and that my ovaries were slightly polycystic so she’s drilled them! She also said that joining a gym (I’m already at one) and eating healthy would also enhance my chances of falling pregnant (this I find hard, especially with working night shifts at the hospital!). I have a follow up with my gynae consultant in 8 weeks and I’ll more than likely be started back on Clomid.

I’m just hoping and praying that it’ll happen for us sometime soon 🤞🏼

Try moving your arms gently like you are doing front crawl whilst sitting up, to help get the gas moving. And lots of peppermint tea! Be prepared for lots of, ahem, bottom burping...!

Thanks babe, it’s like in my pelvis as well. The bleeding has started up again today x x

Sounds like it went well. Really pleased you don’t have endometriosis; I have it and it’s such a horrible disease to have. Always worth ruling out.

After both my laps I was exhausted; just because the incisions are small doesn’t mean the work they did inside you was. Remember they were pulling organs about looking around organs don’t like being pushed about 😳Yours wasn’t just a diagnostic laparoscopy; they drilled your ovaries. That might make you feel very sore ; when my endo was removed I had lots of cramping but strong painkillers really helped; co-codamol is effective 😘a life saver with my endometriosis 😁

Keep a close eye on the incisions; if they look red, are sore or weepy see a a nurse practitioner or dr ASAP; I ended up with an infection in one of my wounds as the scab healed over my dissolvable stitches causing an infection; once I had the antibiotics had taken effect the the scab fell over with the stitches 😁 Sometimes the stitches don’t always easily come out; my first lap I had to have some removed which didn’t hurt at all and I’m a wimp 😂( no infection that time)

All you can do now is rest and let hubby look after you; spend a few days enjoy watching lots films and just take it easy; it will help with recovery. Don’t rush back to work till you feel ready especially if your job is physical. Recovery is an individual thing.

I had bruises where the incisions were ( I bruise easily tho) and was very hard to move about; it will get better 😘 By a week I was much better pottering around the house 😁it might have been sooner had I not got an infection 🙄

You know have a proper diagnosis and now can move forwards with a plan ; this is very positive and was worth doing us ladies are made of strong stuff hey 😉

All the best xoxo

Thanks babe, your message means a lot!

I’m always on the go so it frustrates me when I’m restricted.

I still can’t lie comfy in bed, which is making my back ache.. so that’s annoying haha. I’ve luckily just got an achey pain rather than anything else and where my incisions are they glued them together rather than external stitches which I think is supposed to be better. They’re just a bit itchy!! Xxx

How about the sofa? My hubby got pillows and a duvet and it was nicer than being “trapped” in bed 😂 I’m the same but for recovery it is best to take it easy first few days aids recovery time 😁

I might ask for glue if I have another lap (my fertility specialist has sent me to an endo specialist with a view for another lap as endo is on my bowel and so recurring ); much easier than stitches 😉stitches are a pain.

Keep an eye on them ; if you are worried see a nurse; they won’t mind they said to me they’d rather see me before it got really bad and was major. Never think they would think it is time wasting.

Glad you are not in lots of pain that’s good 😘pain doesn’t help recovery. Achey sounds normal unfortunately it should ease soon the gas they use doesn’t help. The gas they inflate you with can make you feel bloated and can make shoulders ache a bit as it affects the diaphragm . Should only take a few days to clear.

The appointment will be here before you know it and you can start trying again 😁 xoxo
