Hi everyone just wanted to see if anyone could offer some advise as i have some left over cylogest from my recent failed ivf cycle that I would like to use while trying naturally.
I mentioned to my Dr in my last follow up app that my last two cycles before ivf I had ovulated around day17 on a 28 day cycle and Dr said this could be a problem because of short LH phase. I'm currently on day 17 of this cycle and I still haven't had a positive ovulation test, I am having the right cm associated with ovulation and I'm assuming I'll test positive very soon. If I ovulate from day 18 on a 28 day cycle than that is very late so I'm thinking I may as well take the left over cylogest to help avoid my lining shedding early in case of a miricle pregnancy. Does anyone think this is a bad idea and know of any reason to avoid doing this?
My problem is that I have low oviarian reserve so late ovulation could be due to poor follicle grow or messed up hormones from ivf.
Any advise would be much appreciated since the Drs aren't willing to advise on anything unless they are montionering everything.
Hi I’m not sure about using it I think the only reason it’s needed during ivf is that the follicles are removed so don’t produce progesterone where the one that ruptures the egg would in a non -ivf cycle . Interesting what you say about poor follicle growth during follicular phase resulting in short leutal phase. I do remember reading that & wonder if it’s the same reason I sometimes get spotting before af (starting on day 10 or 11 after ovulation). Maybe in those months I’ve not had enough follicles ! Sorry I don’t have the answers but you are not alone. Check out Jacqui84 posts as she got a bfp after taking pessaries to correct a short leutal phase. I’m not sure how you check if progesterone is officially low like you say the doctors don’t offer much in that sense I have only had day 21 progesterone tested once & it evidenced ovulation so end of story from their perspective. It’s so frustrating. If others say it can’t do harm I’d give it a go xx
Hi clarabglasgow thanks for your feedback I know it's a long shot but just thought it might help as it just feels frustrating not being able to do anything. Hope your doing okay and finding your way with your journey. I'll take a look at jacqui84 page thanks for the tip xxx
