Hi ladies

Does anyone know how it works with moving house?

My husband got promoted and I’m trying to work out where this leaves us with our referral. Do I have to stay where I am or can I transfer?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thank your

Kelly xx

Hey, I think you have to transfer if your new post code doesn’t fit within your current clinic. My friend moved but left her mums address with her clinic so she didn’t have to transfer everything, I guess it depends how far your moving xx

We’re moving over 100miles so quite far. 😂 I guess I could do the commute to appointments but I don’t know how much extra pressure that could put on and I’d be devastated if that caused issues with anything sticking xx

Oh 😂 with the distance I would probably change clinics xx

Are you moving out of your ccg area and are you changing gps?

It depends on the criteria of the ccg of the new clinic. Where I am you have to have lived in the area for at least a year and been registered with a gp in that area for at least a year. So when we moved house we had to wait a full year to be eligible for treatment again even though by that point we'd been trying for almost 10 years.

But I know lots of areas specifically say there shouldn't be a delay in treatment if you move house and have no waiting time. It's worth looking at as there might be a few different ccgs near to your husbands new work and it might make sense to try to move to one that doesn't make you wait

So it’s interesting you wrote this post..

My current gynae where we live says you have to be there a yr before u can apply. However, yesterday I phoned one of the fertility centres where I would probably receive treatment in the new area and they said they have never known anyone to have to wait before applying. She did say you have to be living her with an address before applying but that there was no specified time.

I have emailed a gp at a drs surgery to get a response asking them but I’m just waiting now.

Thank you so much for your response good luck 😉

Hi oregan_k - hubby and I were also in this dilemma a month ago. We spoke with the nurse and she said it shouldn't make a difference if we aren't moving too far away (we're moving about 25 miles away from our current home). She did a check and confirmed the area of our new home is covered by the same CCG, so it was okay and wouldn't affect our upcoming cycle (we are moving from Staines to Farnham). Hope that helps! x

Hi kiranA0510

Thank you for your reply sadly we already know we are changing CCGs as we’re moving over 100miles away from where we are at the moment. Thank you for the reply.

I am currently in discussions with drs surgery and fertility clinic to get some answers
