Hi all so have found out that I am extremely low on vitamin D and could be a factor in my two miscarriages - any suggestions on what to do to increase (I have booster tablets from doctors)

I was diagnosed with low vit d in October and was given tablets from gp ever since though iv bought some drops at high strength and, take them also I will continue to do so, my vit d I'd normal now and I do believe me using the drops has played a big part, interesting to find out that it could of had a factor on your miscarriages. They are checked mine at my last m c appointment I'll get results on Friday. I'm sure they're fine though as my drs haven't rung to come for meds

I suffered with infertility for 10 years. When my vitamin d was finally checked it was only 12!

I just took tablets and it wasn't checked again but i assume it increased.

I do wonder if this could be a factor in a number of unexplained infertility cases?

Well it was only at the ivf clinic that I found out it was low so we didn't have the opportunity to try naturally with the supplements, but the ivf worked first time x

I was told to take vitamin D and folic acid as soon as I started my journey I just take the high strength vitamin D from asda so hope it’s enough !! I presume they check this on bloods or is it something I need to ask to be checked ? X

Hi Sienna. Unfortunately yes it could be the reason. One of my cousins was having low vitamin D at the time of her pregnancy. She was prescribed some medicines. Her gp told her that a continuous low count can lead to miscarriage. She was also advised to take the sun bath. As you know it is the rich source of vitamins D. you have not mentioned your counts. Take care of your counts and it will surely increase with few precautions.
