Egg collection - modified natural ivf

So we got 3 eggs! Was rather dramatic as whilst in theatre waiting they told me that the defib machine was broken and they were trying to sort it before they could proceed with sedation. An hour passed and I was understandably getting distressed in case I released the eggs with the delay. They told me I would have to do it awake or collection couldn’t go ahead.

Long story but I wasn’t too happy (burst into tears and at first refused!) and it was very unpleasant but feel pleased with how I dealt with it and we got 3 eggs!

Was hoping for one or two, but 3 is great - the third follicle was an “ok” size so we have to wait and see whether it’s good enough.

Call tomorrow morning, here’s hoping!xx

Thank you, to be fair the doctor and nurse were really great and made it as easy as it could be. Plus the bloke who hit the morphine when I asked 😂

Well done & great outcome ! How does this programme work did you say they freeze your eggs or will they try fertilise they? Xx

Fertilise them and grow to day 3, freeze if ok, if not looking good grow to day 5 and only freeze if they look ok. We will do this 3 times and then transfer the best after 3 rounds.

My worry is in two previous rounds we never got a good day 3 embryo - one stopped at day 2 and 3 were poor on day 3. But this is the first time we have used bemfola which is all fsh not a mix of fsh and LH like merional which was my last drug.
