Donor has started egg stimulation !!

Super excited. Got word today our donor has started her stim injections. Having done 3 cycles of own egg IVF I am in awe that there is a lady in Greece right now putting herself through that for the benefit of giving a woman (a couple) she doesn’t know the chance of having a baby!! I’m not daft I realise she receives payment for this but the experience isn’t exactly a walk in the park so for someone to do this voluntarily to make our dreams come true is just amazing. We also didn’t think it would all move this fast as we were only matched a couple of weeks ago. It’s to be an FET so still a ways to go but... eek it’s happening!!! 😃

Ive started the pill to regulate cycle so just waiting for further instructions to do my prostap injection to down regulate next month then should be good to go with building the lining for transfer around mid April or thats the hope anyway. Countdown is on but going so slowly....uurgghhh!!xx

I won’t be on the pill till next period in March - I’ve just come on so that won’t be till about 23 March now. I won’t be down-regulating as such just the pill. Been chatting to Emu2016 too and it’s so weird how much clinics can vary in their approach! I just take the pill for 2-3 weeks come late March then start the Progynova for the lining in April sometime. Aiming for FET 2nd week in May. So happy to have a few cycle buddies in this madness that whilst I am a veteran of IVF, the DE aspect is entirely new and very scary 😘

Ahhh you'll be absolutely fine. It's actually such a bonus not doing egg collection that's for sure! Yeah it will be great to have a few of us all getting a bit crazy together emu2016 ....makes it just a little easier to have cycle buddies!!xx

The weird sensation is (so far 😂) the stims phase in that I’m only used to going through that myself so being removed from it feels strange and waiting for “updates” when you’re not the one it’s happening to!! You will help me sane I’m sure lovely x

Eeeeeep! We had the same chat with our co-ordinator last night. It’s so easy to forget what that woman puts herself through. And they might be being paid; but the value of that little baby is no where near what they get. Come on cycle buddy! xx

So exciting - we've been told that our best chance is through donor eggs but we're looking at Spain. We have to do 1 more cycle with my own eggs, in order to get the refund from the fertility programme but we'll then be looking at heading to Spain!! Took a while to come round to the idea of donor eggs but I've decided that the end goal of baby is the one I need to focus on so it doesn't really matter how we get there! Good luck to you xx

Yes I also took a while but it was more about the emotional side of not feeling like I could do IVF again let alone with another woman’s eggs. You may still get there with your own, hang in there! xx

Don’t know the collection dates yet as donor only started meds in last couple days but I’m estimating around 6 March! We should know our embie status before mid- March..

Yes 1st time. It’s an FET just for logistical reasons the clinic being in Greece it was to make it easier to plan and manage.

Ah that’s not long for you!! Is this your 1st DE? Have you had collection already then and assuming your embies are already there - how many did you get? xx

No not first time for us. We had a fresh DE cycle and got pregnant but lost the little bean.

We were lucky to get 5 embryos frozen and this will be our third FET

Great news, congratulations on beginning the donor conception process... wish you all the luck in the world to behold the baby soon! Yeah, I guess we can't really thank the surrogate mums enough... for their benevolent gift to a couple willing to have babies yet unable to have one over some medical issues. That's a brave indeed!
