Ladies

My egg collection is tomorrow butbthd doctors are saying I need to wait 6-8 weeks for transfer due to high progesterone levels thickening the edomentrial lining further than it should be at day 13..any thoughts... I am so guttered!

Sorry to hear that- I can imagine how upsetting it is. My fresh cycle resulted in a missed miscarriage and I suffered with hyperstimulation. Luckily, I had some frozen embryos. I waited 3 months and I found the frozen so much easier. I now have a very mischievous 10 month old and I am waiting to use my one and only frozen embryo.

Thank you! That puts my mind at ease.... what is different with a frozen cycle - less drugs

Yes it's so much easier. You still down reg for 2 weeks, take oestrogen tablets for another 2 and I have cyclogest pessaries when your lining is ok- a total of 2 scans. I was so much more relaxed. You can also opt for a natural fet but my clinic always recommend medicated- more control I suppose. Xx

I had the same problem so couldn't have a fresh transfer. I also had a mild case of ohss so more meds at the time would have made me feel even worse. Two months later I had a frozen transfer taking up to 4 oestrogen tablets a day, changing an oestrogen patch twice a week and using 2 progesterone pessaries one at night and one in the morning. It worked first time and now I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant with my first scan tomorrow xx

Oh Hun! I am so happy for you! Congrats and thank you so much for sharing your experience.

I know it is super frustrating but it is going to give you a better chance of success. My progesterone levels were borderline before my collection and the team discussed whether they might have to delay my treatment. In the end, they went ahead and I got a BFN- could be any reason but part of me will always wonder if we had waited whether it might have worked.

It will be hard to wait but I hope it will be worth it. Keep us posted! Xx
