Shall I carry on acupuncture or not?

I have been having acupuncture weekly from December, I had a session day after transfer and I'm wondering if I need another session this week? My acupuncturist didn't really say much about coming back so I'm confused whether it will be beneficial to me and my baby? Thanks xxx

Hi, like you I had acupuncture the day of ET but I can’t remember if I had it again during the 2ww. The lady I went to did say acupuncture was safe throughout pregnancy. Hope you’re doing ok x

Okay, I thought it was safe but it's the cost involved with it. I'm doing ok, feel more and more excited for test day with each day that goes past! Hope you're good xx

Cost wise I recently discovered that it’s worth buying a cash back healthplan and claiming back on that for most of the cost of acupuncture. May not be worth it for you this time but if you have to do another round or other readers it might be worth knowing about.

I know I found it very expensive, don’t know if I could have afforded to keep it up through pregnancy if I had achieved BFP. I’m excited for you also xx

I do the same.. I have weekly accupuncture since Nov and ill have my EC tomorrow.. My accupuncturist told me that i can continue having it as it opens the flow of whatever.. i do all the odds to get a positive outcome of this.. besides, accupuncture relaxes me.. Despite the cost, i go for it weekly and plan to have one before ET.. Im not sure if ill go after ET though.. let me know of your progress..

I’ve been doing weekly acupuncture since August, and he had told me not to come in during the 2WW, and if positive after to book again the following week. Then acupuncture would continue for only the first trimester and would be every other week.

If negative to wait and then reschedule when ready to try again because primarily of cost for me. Otherwise can continue weekly.

Hello, that is good to know. I will hold out until test day then. Thank you and good luck xx

If you went in after the ET then I don't think you need to go again. After I got my positive pregnancy test, I went in once to deal with some morning sickness (at about 6 weeks) but I've not been back since and probably won't unless my baby is taking time after the due date!

Perfect, thank you!! Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy xx

Just to mention, I totally trust my acupuncturist. She's great and I loved going, but it's costly and once I got my bfp she said I didn't need to unless I struggled with any symptoms. It was sort of a case of "I'm here if you need me."

Hi Oharal! My acupuncturist won’t touch me during the 2ww, just pop your feet up and keep your fingers and toes crossed! Good luck xxx
