Acupuncture - worth it or not?

I’ve had a few sessions in the run up and during our IVF so far and just booked a pre and post transfer appointment either side of our transfer on Saturday. I just wondered if anyone else had tried it before and their experiences, good or bad results or just indifferent?

I tried it and felt very relaxed. I did a couple of sessions leading up to transfer and I did it on the day of transfer too one before and one after and I too got my bfp. Not sure if helped or not.... but I felt less stressed in the day because of it. Xx

I see a fertility acupuncturist. She has a 50% success rate. Because she specialised in fertility she is also up to date on studies for me to read. She also has positive stories to tell me from her past clients.

I started seeing her before my most regular FET. She worked on making my periods healthy which helps the blood flow and health of the womb. I had very heavy clotty periods prior to seeing her and now they are very healthy and clean. It was also very relaxing. She did a Mizan massage on me too and under her instruction I regularly do castor oil packs.

She said ideally she works with clients in the 3 months leading up to a fresh transfer because is helps egg quality and womb health. My FET didn’t work but I am confident that going into a fresh cycle I will get the benefits.

Hi Clairey. Many ladies I have spoken to have found that acupuncture does help you to relax. It is also good to encourage blood flow to the ovaries and womb lining, so I think it's worth a try. Hope all goes well with your transfer - I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Diane

Hi, I have done all the session pre transfer and post transfer and it was absolutely helpful.

Specially post transfer, it was really nice to have someone look after me and work with my body to welcome my little one xxx

I found a really good acupuncturist who is a trained midwife. I started seeing her on my second cycle and I suffered so much less from all the drugs! She also seems to magic away my perpetually present cankles. If it works wonders on my circulation it can only be a good thing. First transfer under her care got me pregnant. Now in 2ww for number two... good luck!
