I’m currently unhappy at my NHS clinic, there’s another one about 20 Miles away I’m considering to see if I can transfer however I’m worried about being out at the back of the waiting list if I move clinics ? Has anyone had experience swapping hospitals xx

Transferring NHS clinics
I cant offer any advice really apart from to ring your new clinic to ask if you were to switch would you be penalised? I do think if you are unhappy and want to swap that you should move as you may regret it further down the line. Its not quite the same as we've gone from NHS to private and the care we have has been wonderful...not sure if that's the difference between sectors but we both just feel in better hands!xx
They should be able to tell you what the waiting list would be if you ring them x
If you feel more comfortable I'd definitely ask about it. Being more at ease at the other clinic may make a difference too, more positive vibes and all that. Have you checked at success rates of both? It's something I'd consider although people always told me that each case is different so not to get too hung up on this xx
Hi, just saw your post. I’m based in Bristol. I know it was six months since you posted, but I’m in a very similar situation currently. Not happy with our chosen NHS clinic and trying to find out if we can move clinic, thinking about transferring to CRGW. Were you able to move your clinic in the end? And still receive your funded treatment?
Are you able to private message me, what clinic you were with? As this seems very familiar to my situation.
TIA
Hiya lovely I didnt transfer clinic after, I decided not to go ahead with the nhs however we’ve decided to go private at CRGW Cardiff xxx
Ahh ok, yeah we are trying hard not to lose our funded round. But really not happy with our current clinic.
We have visited CRGW, and they seem great. How are have you found treatment with them? X
I’ve only had an Initial consultation and examination with CRGW , however I needed further treatment ( surgery ) before having my next round of ivf, so I had to be referred back to my Gynaecology department at my local hospital, but CRGW were very helpful they got in touch with my Gynae consultant liased on what was the best approach, they emailed the results of what they found upon my examination and also sent me a copy of the email that they had sent my gynae consultant. All within about 5 days ! So really on the ball, they rang me in the evening to tell me it had been done and wished me well. If that had been my nhs clinic it probably would have taken them 12 weeks/ never had happened/ or lost my results/ I probably would’ve had to phone them 20 times before getting any sense. Well that has been my experience anyway ! I’m disappointed we have to pay for our next round, but the trauma we went through under the NHS was almost worse than the actual treatment itself ! It was exhausting trying to keep one step ahead of them. So we decided we’d rather pay and finally be looked after as a patient and not a number. Which I felt like at the NHS clinic. I’m not slating the NHS at all because it is a fantastic service however level care was appalling at an admin level. I think it’s just down to under funding, under staffed and not the time and ability to help everyone xxx
Yeah it’s so stressful at the moment which obviously isn’t helping. Hoping to start our first round in October, but not sure if it will be with the NHS or if we will go private. I do think it will be less stressful private, we do feel more like a statistic at the moment. X
Yeah it’s a one size fits all approach that’s what I found, however I know people that have been successful with the NHS ! So not all bad, we gave it a go on our first round and we had 3 embryo transfers. But I have completely ruled out the nhs our 2nd round is still there as an option ! You never know what can happen financially so it’s good as a back up x
