So I booked a appointment at a private clinic to hear what there thoughts were on possibly been able to get us a baby through treatment.
He said although I'm young ( 37 don't feel it) he thought donor eggs would be our best option, I knew that was coming really so had accepted it in my own head.
He advised us to go to their councling session asap even though we don't want to start treatment till July/ Aug time as I want to get weight off.
So we go to our councling appointment 5tg Feb eeeek!
Not sure weather to be scared or excited but praying we get better luck with this journey .
It rly does, so much harder to lose than gain! Have u a diet plan ur going to follow? Its hard to find 1 that works for u. Its going ok, cramping has settled. Jus hoping we get a good result. Have moments of full belief and moments thinking it will never happen. All standard 2ww stress lol xx
I'm not following slimming world or anything I'm just really cutting down on bad stuff, we have also set up a " gym" in the garage lol ok we have a treadmill and a exersise bike but me and my husband are taking turns in there. I have lost 10lbs since start of January 😊.
Awww bless you 2ww is the worst 😕 it's just so cruel. I hope you get your BFP xx
Thats amazing go u!!!!! Love a garage gym, no risk of bumping into ppl lol. I lost a stone before ivf too its not easy but hopefully its worth us for us both xx
Yeah there is definatly no worry of what I look like , I got some primark gym gear that i wouldnt of dared wear to a public gym 🤣 lovely bright leggings totally unflattering but comfy.
Wow loosing a stone is great too, yes hopefully our hard work will pay off for us xx
Such a positive step for you today, it really is such a mixture of fear and excitement though. It’s great to have your implications counselling session so quickly, I think you’ll get a lot out of it. We had two appointments and found it really beneficial. Have you had a look at the Donor Conception Network yet?
Yeah I was shocked at how quickly they could fit us in, the said we could have 2 councling appointments free, so will probably see how we feel after 1st one 😊.
I've got alsorts of things buzzing round my head at the moment 🤣, it just feels like a hole new world.
No I haven't looked at the donor conception website I will give it a Google later.
Can highly recommend looking up DCN. Their volunteers have been through Donor Conception and will speak to you really honestly and helpfully about their own experiences. They’ll also match you up with people of similar circumstances to yourself and you can connect with them via email or phone. It helped answer a lot of questions for me and helped us reach a treatment option we felt was right for us both.
Two week wait is going good so far. I’ve been taking it a lot easier than I would have normally, letting hubby take up the slack for me. He’s been great. I’ve a day out tomorrow I’ve been looking forward to which has kept me going so far xx
Thank you, yes I feel like I'm starting all over again with ivf, probably a bit too optimistic at this point, there is always a down point with the ivf journey.
Some of the lovely ladies on here have already been a huge help as I'm going to the same clinic as them 😊
Counselling was a tick box exercise for us we’d read so much, joined the Donor Conception Network and started reading Having your baby through egg donation.
I also asked 101 million questions to women on here.
Wishing you so much luck for your counselling and on this next bit of your journey, id think it’s normal to be feeling a mix of emotions. So glad things have got moving for you xx
Thinking of you. I found accepting DE the most difficult decision I've ever had to make. It's wasn't an easy journey, I was so disappointed that my own eggs didn't work. I also had to accept DE was going to be the only was way I'd get the family I've so longed for. I'm pleased to say I'm now pregnant. Take care x
Hampshiregal lovely to hear you got your BFP, how far along are you.
I don't expect this to be a easy journey as no matter how you are doing ivf it's a very tough journey where we are all praying for a positive outcome xx
Hiya I'm 31 weeks. I had DE in the UK - having to have at least one counselling session is normal before the clinic will go ahead with treatment. I think it's in the guidelines. The counsellor has a check list to cover and you get a copy. They advise being honest with your child is best and suggest you join the DCN etc.
Awww that's great news!! I guess if you get that out of the way then you can crack on with your weight loss mission looking forward with a positive mind!!xx
Thank you, I'm just so relived that they were nice and seemed to sit and listen.
Yes he was keen for us to do the councling first before anything else, at least if it brings up any doubts we have plenty of time to get answers to questions ect.
Yeah, i think thats a great idea. Onwards and upwards!!
I'm ok thanks! Recovered from the hysteroscopy and back to work today. Was nice having a few days to to relax in the sun afterwards. Just need to wait for my results and go from there but looking at transfer April time now!xx
