I stopped drinking caffeine and switched to decaf. There is still a bit of caffeine in decaf products but I don't think it's much.

Don't feel bad about drinking decaf. The level of caffeine is so small. And 7d you're anything like me you'll totally go off tea and coffee during pregnancy!

Like normal coffee, the level of caffeine in coffee depends on the type. Filter coffees tend to have more, instant coffee tends to have less. I wouldn't worry too much about decaf though, I think there is more caffeine in chocolate than there is in decaf coffee. If you want something more natural, azeera decaf is water filtered. Cheap instant decaf coffee tend to be chemically treated x

That’s brilliant to know about the Nescafé Azera de caff. I switched to decaf tea and coffee a while back too but felt guilty still because of the chemicals used to strip the caffeine! You can’t win. Going to get myself a jar of that. Thanks for the tip. Any tips about better quality decaf teabags? x

Hi Dunla not sure on the decaf teabags but I know there are obvious naturally caffeine free types, like herbal teas and rooibos.i would think that twinings, pukka or teapigs might have a good quality decaf? Am sure most of these brands are organic so I should think they would do. Hope you find one, I have only been drinking water since NYE!

Not so much willpower, it's for charity 😊 I'm doing the water only dry January for Water Aid. I thought it would be good for my icsi cycle as well so it seemed like a no brainer x

Try clipper decaf tea bags, apparently “naturally” decaffeinated and also in bleach free bags.

Hey, I switched to clipper organic decaf tea as I also worried about the chemicals in other brands decaf. Not sure if it's made a difference yet as currently in 2ww but worth a try xx

Hello there... I think you will be fine with decaf if want it. But I agree with those who point out that generally decaf (both coffee and tea, actually) are not that good for you because of how the caffeine is taken out (with chemicals). I read that even the water method is not very healthy, but maybe that's an exaggeration on the part of purists? Always hard to tell with these things. I think a better option anyway is 'fake' dandelion/chicory/barley/dried fig coffee (available in Holland & Barrett or health food store - there are different sorts, with one or more or all of those ingredients, either soluble or for coffee machine). Same colour and bitter taste as coffee, but no caffeine and no nasty treatments. Best of luck to you! xx
