I'm 13 weeks pregnant tomorrow me and my other half had sex tonight for the first time in weeks sorry (tmi) and straight away afterwards was fresh dark pinkish blood this has happened in a previous pregnancy that ended in miscarriage and not as far on just looking for some reassurance. 😔

I think you've just caused your cervix to bleed a little. Keep an eye on it if it continues or you get pain contact hospital. Hope all is well xxx in just read and the vagina becomes vascular while pregnant and when you, have intercorse these cells are likely to get hit and that's what causes the bleeding. Xx

Thank you so much seems to have died down a little this morning so hopefully it's nothing serious xxx

As your 13 weeks like lady above said u should be fine and it’s the vagina skin possibly bleeding . Keep an eye don’t stress as it can make it worse

As the other comments... the increase in hormones can cause what is known as a cervical erosion. I've had one ever since I went on the pill, it just changes in size depending on the pill I'm on, not on, hormones I'm taking, or not. I'm fully expecting pregnancy to have made it bigger. This causes the cells from your uterus to "fall out" through your cervix, which can then bleed if poked 😘 what I've never been told is whether this causes any kind of chain reaction to the cells further up within the uterus, but each time I've had an erosion bleed, other than a bit of old blood an hour later, it has stopped immediately after sex. Fingers crossed that's all this is for you, though I know just the panic you've been going through.

If the erosion is a new thing for you, you can have the cells treated (cortorised) after pregnancy, but I've personally chosen to leave them as they are for fear of not knowing what it might do, despite all of the reassurance I've had! I hope your pregnancy is just fine, and continues to be a safe one xx
