Hi ladies and gents, I have just had my third nurse consultantation for my upcoming FET and I am a little confused! I have been offered two options
1. Day 21 bursellin and scratch and then check to see how lining is and transfer
2. To take prostap ( I think this is how you spell it!) Scan after 4 weeks and take bursellin and tablets to thicken the lining.
I was asked which option I wanted. Has anyone had the second one? I am thinking of doing the first one as i don't want to take more medication. But now I am scared my lining won't get thick enough!!! I wanted to keep things more natural and go with my period next month.
Fingers crossed it's 3rd time lucky for us. My stomach was in knots being back here! Xx

Hey, I did the prostap injection waitied for a bleed then started on progynova tablets (oestrogen tablets) to thicken my lining so not quite the same as yours but similar. To be honest it wasnt too bad for me (though I suspect everyone reponds to the med differently) and I had a headache and bad cramps waiting for my bleed but that was about it. I would have loved to have tried a more natural approach next time without the prostap but my clinic feel "in their opinion they yield better results with medicated transfers" and Im at a clinic abroad so there's more control there for them with my natural hormones switched off. If you want to try the more natural one first then go for it. The worst that can happen is your lining isnt ready and you may have to wait a bit longer to try the other version. They wont defrost your embryos until the day of transfer so no pressure on that side. Good luck with what you decide!xx
Thanks for replying cinders! I was confused by it all. I think I will go for just a more natural cycle and wait for my period and book my day 21 scratch and take bursellin and tablets. Just have to wait and see if it will work! The nurse said the second option was just more longer. I feel I wanted to just have January to be me again! How are you getting on? Xx
Ahh I actually misread that you were doing buserelin in the first option. Unsure what the difference is now as I thought the prostap would have been instead of buserelin....I did the prostap to shut me down for one month, Im not surprised you're confused! Yes I think you should go with your gut instinct and if that doesnt work (no reason why it shouldnt) then at least you know you have another option.
Im good thanks, heading out to Athens on 24th Jan for hysterosopy, bloods, immunes to see if there is an underlying reason for my lack of implantation. We've used 3 good embies and 2 excellent with not a hint of a second line so cons wants to check there isnt something underlying before wasting anymore precious embies!xx
Yeah my head was thinking a 1000 things at once lol. Awww I really hope this is our time! We both have had our cycles at similar times. I hope you get to venture out in Athens as my husband I went there last year and it's beautiful! Best of luck and keep in touch xxx
Yes we both really like it out there and the food is so tasty.....god all I can think about it food as Im on a diet ha ha ha. We feel like we've gotten to know the place really well. Lovely on the coast and in the centre and its always sunnier than Scotland! Fingers crossed for us!xx
I am following the same protocol that you describe above Cinderella, not for FET but because we are using DE. I also had cramps and headache waiting for the bleed but the headaches seem to have eased off now I’ve been taking progynova for a few days. Seems like a straight forward protocol, scan next week to check lining and then adding cyclogest pessaries to the mix
Best of luck, I had the same for my DE fresh cycle but my lining was rubbish and wouldnt play ball (which is unusual, I always have to different LOL) so had to bleed and thicken lining again which worked. Best of luck for your next scan, keep us posted!xx
Thanks very much noodles that's very kind of you. I am wishing you all the best with your cycle to! We can do this!! When life knocks us down we can only get up and be stronger xxx
Thanks ms for your reply hun, I just didn't want to mess my cycle up more than it is already. My periods are much lighter since all this treatment and I just felt if I took yet another injection it will mess my system up more! X
