Hi everyone, currently taking my meds for my first Frozen cycle. Scan in Friday to check my lining. I had a bad cold a few weeks ago and it’s still lingering and I had s slight eye infection with it. I’m worrying now this means I’m run down and the cycle won’t work. I’m not taking anything for it now as it’s almost gone. My eyes are sore again. Can anyone recommend anything? Worrying it’s all doomed before I’ve even got the embryo back on board :( xxx

Hey PPDo.... don’t you worry. Just relax. Can you try eye masks to relieve the pain a little? The stress might just be irritating it. And ... fatal last words.... try and relax (yeah right! When did that work in IVF!)

Could you call the clinic in the morning? That’s what they’re there for. They’ll let you know their thoughts and you’ll feel better for talking to experts xx

Thanks for the reply :). I think I will try and call them in the morning. I think the stress is making it worse. The more I think about it the more sore they are!!! Just so frustrating as generally I’m really healthy and rarely get colds. Xx

A I know that one. It drives you insane! Try and keep busy. Watch a film, have a bath, online shop (if your eyes can take it!)

Just get to the morning and call them. During my first cycle I was forever on the phone to them. And during my second cycle I was what’sapping the nurses crying on the phone to them at 7am! If this crazy ordeal has taught me anything it’s this... you won’t be the first and you won’t be the last to ask the question or worry about something... so make that call xx

Would a gel cool pack help soothe your eyes at all? Would paracetamol help? So frustrating to get sick during treatment. It has happenened me too. I think the treatment process and all that goes with it can really run you down. Hope that you are feeling better soon and lots of luck for your scan on Friday xx

Yes, you're right you got to stop worrying if you want to give the embie it's best shot. Hmm I don't think to have a cold or the irritation sometime back will do any harm to the process - it's still a few days left for the FET. If the irritation is unbearable you can soak in a cotton in a mix of half water and half rosewater and apply that - it's an old hack, helps most. Or you can simply ask your GP for some eye drop that's totally safe for the FET. About the cold, it's almost gone (as you mentioned) take hot chocolate but avoid the sugar as much as you can and other natural stuff like ginger tea etc. Everything you tend to get absorbed in the thoughts of odds that may chance switch on Netflix or some movie you like or simply go for a walk - in short, keep your mind distracted. It's best to try and stay happy and don't take stress at all even after the FET throughout the 2WW - that will really benefit the pregnancy. Wish you all the luck in the world for success in this cycle... XOXO.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I spoke to a doctor at the clinic and he assured me a cold/eye infection won’t affect anything to do with the cycle. Just got to try and get a gp appointment. Thanks for the good wishes, roll on Friday xxx
