Hi ladies, I’ve been taking progynova to build up my lining for FET. - 4mg/day for 6 days at which point lining was 5.9. They upped my dose to 8mg/day for the past 4 days. Scan this morning and lining has not changed at all!? Waiting for the doctors advice which I expect around lunchtime today but was wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences?

FET - progynova stopped working!?
I had a similar thing with my lining on my last FET. My lining eventually did grow but they had to up my dose quite a bit, I was stuck at the same measurment of around 7mm for some time. I tried the strong vitamin E tablets from Superdrug in the last week and Im not sure if that's what helped in the end but lining at transfer had gone from around 7.1mm to 9.4mm. Its very frustrating! Good luck!xx
I had that for my first attempt at FET. They upped the dose but kept spotting and lining wouldn’t thicken. For my second round they did patches and pills and that seemed to do the trick x
My lining wasnt thickening adequately on my 1st attempt so have had patches as well as the tablets and they've worked really well together. It's so stressful when things don't gonas planned but theres plenty of other options to try! x
This happened to me last month. Mine was 5.3mm and 5 days later in was still the same.
This month from cd1 I've drank 2 cups of rasberry leaf tea a day, 1/2 bottle of Pom a day, 2 sessions of accupuncture a week and daily vitamin e. I was only on patches last month but now on patches and 6mg progynova a day (of which the tablets have helped in the past) got a scan on wed so hoping it will be a different story this month 😬 so maybe worth trying some of these if your lining doesn't thicken this cycle xx
Thank you for the advice I’ll try these next time. Fingers crossed for your scan on wed 🤞 xx
Good luck!xx
Thanks Cinders! Meant to also add that I've been doing castor oil packs since day 1....and they say FET are meant to be easy! More mither than a fresh cycle when you've got lining issues! Hope all is good with you xx
Ha ha ha well the only good thing is no egg collection, beyond that it's still pretty crappy eh?!
Im good ta, heading back out to Greece for hysteroscopy, dilation of cervix and lots of tests (biopsies & bloods) in Jan to see if Ive any underlying issues for lack of implantation and my rubbish lining issues! Keep us posted re scan! Everything crossed for you!xx
So transfer has been cancelled and we’ve got an appointment tomorrow to plan the next attempt.
And so this roller coaster ride continues! Good luck to each and every one of you on the journey.....! 🍀🙏 xx
Don't get too down about it. They said to me I could have transferred at 6mm if it got there, but because I know mine has been thicker in the past I would have cancelled it myself, as those blasts are precious so if it means waiting another month then it's def worth it. Hope you appointment goes well xx
Hi Jude6, I just read your story too. It's a bit similar to mine (as some of the other ladies who answered you know already ). How are you now? I would be interested in knowing how things developed for you.
My story in short: for my first attempt at FET I took 1.5mg in patches (Climara 50) last October, lining went up to 6.1mm on day 11, they upped to 5 patches (2.5mg), lining went up to 6.8mm, but FET was cancelled because I had a cyst. Bummer. Tried to go back to natural cycle but nothing happened, body just all over. So I tried HRT again this month, with 4 patches every 3 days, and three 2mg pills of Estrofem a day, and... the lining on day 12 was thinner than on the first attempt! Mega bummer!! (well, at least no cyst...). I stayed on the same dose, but on day 15 I started to bleed, and the scan the day after showed lining down to 4.5mm, so I stopped HRT, and FET cancelled again. Triple bummer. I am trying now to go back to a natural cycle... most frustrating is that before HRT the lining was actually thicker, 7.3mm on day 13. For me it looks like the more estradiol I take, the thinner the lining gets. The doctor had to agree that at this stage natural might be the way to do, maybe also doing an ERA test if the lining does not get thick enough, to see whether it is however receptive. I am quite puzzled as to why this happens, so I'm interested to know how things develop for you. And hopeful! Sorry for the long story, did not want to be negative, but I guess I am quite frustrated I wish you the very best!!
Hi VannaGio, it’s so frustrating isn’t it when things don’t go to plan! So I had a hysteroscopy before Christmas and they found out I had scarring - a total shock to me. Two weeks ago I had the scarring removed and I’m on progynova for 6 weeks and Provera for 2 weeks to help build my lining up. The plan is to build lining up and have a period. Then build it up again and do a FET 🤞🤞. Literally every step of the way there’s been a curve ball for us but seems like that’s just how it goes! Wishing you lots of luck and hopefully the natural FET will work for you 😊 X
That's really interesting. I'm having hysteroscopy this week for lining issues and implantation failures. Really hoping they find something. Keep us posted on your next cycle, would love to hear how it's going!!xx
Will do! Good luck for your hysteroscopy this week xx
If you don't mind me asking do they know what caused your scarring?xx
Indeed good luck!! Keep us posted...
Thank you for your reply and the good wishes. And please keep me posted, I hope it all goes well!!
Actually, your reply made me wonder too... I also had a hysteroscopy back in September, to remove a small polyp. The doctor also found a "synaechiae" on top of the uterus, he said it should not be a problem for the FET because of its position, and the clinic also did not seem to think it was a problem.
Maybe if you have time you can tell me at some point what a scarring is meant to be...? No worries if not. Best wishes!! xx
Hey, I just saw your reply to Jude6 . I would query the scarring/synaechiae again with your clinic as this can sometimes affect the growth of your endometrium from the limited knowledge I have and googling. I know they said it wouldnt affect the FET but perhaps its not helping with your lining issues.....just a thought!xx
Hi, I had scar tissue which I think may be similar to synaechiae? The problem with scar tissue is that it takes up the place of “normal lining” and therefore your lining never gets to a good size for transfer. Maybe worth querying again. My scar tissue (before I knew i had scar tissue) produced free fluid in my uterus when I was taking progynova - that was another reason to do the hysteroscopy to see what was going on xx
Aahh, well ok let's see what they will say... hmm. Thanks!! xx
Hi ladies,
so I asked my clinic, to be sure. The doctor says that because the "adhesion" (synaechiae) is on top of the uterus, it is not a problem for the womb lining. I guess I'll have to trust her, and I am relieved as I did not want to do another hysteroscopy! But thanks for drawing attention to this issue.
Hope all is going well with you! I will be looking forward to your updates, if you feel like giving some. Very best wishes! xx
A natural modified FET cycle works better especially with mild stims every other day.
