Hi, another post on Linings. Currently preparing for my 2nd fet and have my 7 day lining scan tomorrow. I keep reading that lining at 7 days is about 5 but on my last cycle (which was cancelled) it was 5.7 on day 7 and only reached 6 by day 14. Just wondering what other people's linings have been around this time and then how much they have increased in the last few days before starting progesterone? So anxious it's going to get cancelled again!

FET Lining measurements

Hoping scan goes well tomorrow and your lining has thicken up It is thought that gentle exercise [walking - swimming - cycling ] can increase the pelvic blood flow This in turn can help the lining to thicken up
Thinking of you

Thanks Janet. Been doing as much walking as I can to get that blood flowing as well as accupuncture and every old wives tale in the book. Fingers crossed I get a better lining this time!
Hi lovely,
I've been in this situation a few times and each time they have upped my estrogen tablets and it has increased in the last few days.
xx
Hey dietcoke2025 I always struggled with my lining I ended up on estrogen patches and 12mg estrogen but at my first lining scan it still wasn’t budging past 5/5.5 until I inserted one of the estrogen pills vaginally then by my next scan it had jumped up to 8mm! Best of luck with your scan hope it’s plumped up nicely for you xx
if in the unfortunate case you need to cancel, i can recommend a drug i was taking called pentoxifyline- it increases the blood flow around your body and it did seem to work for me. Let me know if you need any studies to show your doc...
My lining was 7mm 3 days before I ovulated. It was the last scan I had so I don’t actually know what it was on the day of transfer. I’ve read a lot on it though and it says 8-11mm is good.
Mine was 6.4mm on day 12. I’ve been on 6mg estrogen daily and they upped my estrogen with two patches to change every other day from day 12. I went in yesterday which was day 16 and my lining was 8.8mm. They scheduled me in for transfer next Friday xxx
Thanks for your reply and congrats on thr growth in your lining. My clinic normally starts progesterone on day 14 and last time when I asked them to wait until day 17 by lining did grow a lot in those last couple of days but lost its trilaminar appearance so was cancelled. Good luck with your transfer! Xx
Hey Dietcoke, how did your scan go? Mine lining was never really trilaminar and only ever got to 8mm max and I heard people getting to 10-12mm so it can happen on a thinner lining. Not everyone is textbook so please don’t get disheartened. I also tried pentoxifillin and Vit E which increases blood floor and also viagra. I ended up on 3 patches changed every 4th day and 12mg estrogen so we really through everything at it. It seems you have lots of other things to try if needs be which is really good and I’m sure you will get there although I know it’s hard to see when you’re in the thick of it xx
Hi, thanks for asking, it was 5.6 but only day 7 so I'm trying to be positive. Got another scan for day 11 to see how we are getting on. I'm on 2 patches every 48 hours, 10mg of estrogen - one vaginally. Thanks for your positive words it means a lot. I know I have a thin lining so would just love to get to 7. You are completely right about the textbook comment, I read a previous comment on here about everyone having a different shoe size and there is no one size fits all and I think that is really apt! It was such a long journey to get some embryos into the freezer i just didn't envisage there being more hurdles to even get to a frozen transfer. Hope all is well with you x
That’s really good for day 7 it’s still got loads of time to thicken a bit more before transfer. There does always seem to be one thing after another I feel you on that one, but you will get there! It’s amazing you have frozen embryos waiting and I’m sure your lining will get there I even heard of people having success with 5.5mm lining. My clinic were quite negative with me which didn’t help at all, they expect everyone to get to the same numbers which just doesn’t happen every women and every body is different so keep your spirits up lovely you’re doing amazing Xx
Hi, so i was feeling really positive as it got to 7.3 on Tuesday which is really good for me. But just had my scan today and it's gone down to 6.8 (although the measurements varied so much). I'm so disheartened but waiting for my clinic to make a final call if it will go ahead. Thanks for your support. Xx
Hi - I've been here before - its so nerve wracking! I hope you are doing okay.
During my FET last year it took quite a while for me to get to 7mm but the consultant kept going up to 21 days and we got there eventually. I was on progynova pills and patches, as well as viagra. They upped the dose of progynova midway through to 12mg to help push us to the target thickness. We ended up with 7.2mm thickness and did get a BFP. Although unfortunately ended in MMC at 7.5 weeks.
Hopefully your scan brings good news about your lining but definitely worth seeing how long the consultant will let you stay on the oestrogen for?
Hi, so had a scan on Tuesday and it had got to 7.3 which was amazing for me and was feeling really positive. Just had my final scan this morning before starting the progesterone and it has gone down to 6.8, waiting for my clinic to make a final call as to whether they will proceed but feeling really low about another one being cancelled or it going ahead but going into it knowing the odds are lower.
I did press my clinic to let me go further on estrogen on my last cycle and we took it to day 17 but my lining had completely lost its trilaminar appearance so it was cancelled. Don't know what to do going forward.
Thanks for your support xx
That’s so tricky. I’m so sorry you are experiencing this rollercoaster. Did the person doing the scan comment on the quality (triliminar appearance) this time?If quality is good then it may trump the actual quantitive measurement of thickness. Also worth considering that since we are talking about a matter of half a millimeter here there can sometimes be variation in the measurement depending on the day/ scanner. Would they do another scan perhaps to double check?
Hope you are doing ok x
Really appreciate your message. This is a good idea. I've messaged my clinic about another scan as the one I had this morning was a different place to my usual as I had to get the blood tests done as well. I've booked in for a scan with my usual sonographer later this afternoon and then at least we can compare like for like. It was definitely still trilaminar but it was really odd I found the whole scan really blurry and grainy and I found it hard to make out much so hoping the scan this afternoon will be clearer. Thanks again for your reply, my husband is away on a business trip this week so can feel like a lot to go through on your own xx
