Embyro Transfer - Do's & Donts?

Hi Ladies,

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times over but I have done a bit of searching and just want some advice. This is my first cycle and we have done ICSI - we had egg collection on Wednesday and they retrieved 6 eggs, out of these 4 were mature and we've ended up with 2 fertilised (so pleased we have something to work with!!)

I am due to have my transfer either tomorrow or Monday depending how our little embryos are developing but just wondered if there was anything I should be doing to help aid implantation?

Or things I really should avoid for that matter? I guess a lot of it is just eating healthy and taking care of myself but just interested to know what others did

Thanks all

Jess :) xx

Hey,

If you buy a fresh pineapple and cut this into 5 sections including the core and eat a slice each day from embryo transfer, this is said to help aid implantation.

Also having half a dozen Brazil or walnuts daily too.

Good luck xxx

Hey, I agree with Amanda about the pineapple and Brazil nuts. I also drank pomegranate juice which is meant to help. I would say just take it easy and treated yourself as being pregnant, good luck x

I will grin and bare some pineapple in that case

Hi JB1988. just wanted to wish you well with your embryo transfer. I agree with the others, so eat sensibly with lots of dark green veggies, seeds and Brazil nuts. Keep off the coffee and alcohol, and do try the pineapple (with core) even if you think it is yukky! Oh and don't forget your Folic Acid and Vitamin D. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you Diane - I don't drink coffee and I haven't had alcohol since starting our journey so no problem there lol! I will force pineapple down ;-) x

I was thinking about this only yesterday so thanks for putting this question out there. Good luck with your cycle. I'm still on the nasal spray but do you have any advice for diet, health etc through spray, injections, collection?

From a First time ivf xx

Thanks Hun. Good luck with your cycle!

For me, I found just eating healthy and fresh foods was best.

I didn’t eat too much chocolate but think that was more a personal choice rather than medical reason lol! Xx

I had acupuncture during my last ICSI cycle, including day of embryo transfer. Therapist suggested eating lots of warming foods to help keep uterus warm. Soups, stews etc and avoid very cold drinks, ice cream etc. Keep your feet warm too.

Try to take it easy if you can, be good to yourself and keep eating healthily.

Wishing you the very best of luck x
