No my application was rejected - you have name the partner
Thank you for letting me know. I think its wrong just because people are single they dont get IVF basically singles them out bit like discrimination in a way but there happy to offer couples i think everyone should be entitle to the same treatments not be disadvantaged. I went to my GP and asked this evening soar a GP who was really negative about it. Can understand how you feel if you have been rejected cause its happened to me as well.
You won’t be able to get nhs funded treatment on your own sorry xx
Thank you. Yeah i went to my GP and soar a doctor who was really negative. It boils down to the area you live in and the funding side of things.
Can you afford a private round? Or consider doing a round where you share your eggs? That makes it 50% cheaper but you have to be below a certain age xx
I going to have to save up to get a private round. I will look into donating my eggs as this could be another avenue to go down thank you for suggesting it. Im 23 years i have just read some information on it so hopefully eligible just need to find a clinic near to me if i went down the route of donating eggs. xx
I didn’t even attempt to go through nhs as a single woman, I went straight to private. I think at some point you could go on the nhs as a single woman but I am not sure if you can now, funding for ivf in the nhs is being cut in a lot of places so I imagine this is an area that is not being funded.
Thank you. In some areas you can get IVF but it goes down to where you live and funding and circumstances. I am looking into private. If you dont mind me asking whats the fee's you roughly paid? i hope your treatment is going well..
I had initial tests and stuff which cost about £600 then a few rounds of iui which cost about £1300 a go I think. Then ivf, I paid for 2 rounds of icsi through a funding company and that cost £8000, it was cheaper to do that rather than pay as you go. my ivf drugs per round cost about £1300.
You also might want to look at Donor conception network, this is a charity that supports people who use donors. They have some good publications and events. Might be worth seeing if they have a Single mums group in your area, unfortunately they don’t have one in my area.
Good Luck!
