FET Advice
In a layman's words its transfer of the frozen embie in your uterus. The process involved in FET (frozen embryo transfer) is somewhat roughly - premedication USG, lots of medication to get your uterine lining all set for the pregnancy, USG to confirm the target lining thickness is achieved, thawing the frozen embie and it's transferred into the uterus of the hopeful mother. The medication runs for 2-3 weeks. It may also include a couple of visit for checking all other aspects such as hormone levels, blood flow in the endometrial and sub-endometrial regions, immunological balance and the frequency of uterine contractions to ensure the uterus is pretty much in a relaxed state to favour the implantation. Once the clinic is sure that the mother's uterus is medically ready to receive the embie and can bear with the gestation the embryo is thawed and transferred to the uterus clinically. A beta on the OTD will confirm if you're pregnant at around 2 weeks after the FET. Though you'll probably get the symptoms and feel it already by the time of the OTD, I'd recommend no HPT in the meanwhile to seek confirmation. It's was hard to refrain from even in my case but getting upset over a faulty result isn't really helpful during the 2ww time. Hope this information helps!
Hi Shannon1400. You may also be offered a natural FET. This would just involve ovulation prediction kits and informing your clinic when you get the "surge". The FET would be timed for around 4 days afterwards. Good luck with whatever is decided for you and of course for success. Diane
