So since our BFP I've been testing daily, stupid I know. It's my OH he's so paranoid from our previous losses.
Anyway, tested yesterday with our internet cheapie and got 2 very dark lines. So thought I'll use my first response as I had a pack of 2 left, got a second line, although not as strong as my 10dp5dt line. Said to my partner maybe the cheap test contaminated the urine or something (used from same glass).
So this morning using my last first response and same line as yesterday, used internet cheapie with the same urine and got 2 very strong lines.
All samples were with first morning urine.
Partner is freaking out even though I'm trying to explain to him that the cheapies are as strong a line as you can get.
My question is does anyone know why this can happen? I know it can be test dye but I think unlikely with 2 tests.
One thing I've read online is when your HCG becomes higher is can make a line appear lighter as the test is only made to detect so much and once HCG is high lines can become lighter in urine that's too concentrated. Anyone heard that before?
Anyway, I really am not concerned because I feel fine and the cheap tests are strong just wanted to put my OH mind at ease. He is worse than me when it comes to becoming obsessed with things and that's saying something lol.
Also trying to explain to him that HCG doesn't automatically mean all will be well at scan, don't want him getting his hopes up too much too soon 🙁

I’m not totally sure why different tests do that? I tested 2 days after my BFP as I was having a crazy day thinking it had all gone wrong and the second test didn’t have as strong a line as my clear blue on otd. Don’t think it’s anything to worry about, on the box it says that the line can be different shades .. think maybe it’s due to manufacturing and how concentrated your wee is?
Yeah, apparently too concentrated wee can be a bad thing in high hcg, who'd have known? We've never had strong positives on internet cheapie so trying to get my partner to take reassurance from that but it doesn't seem to be working lol.
I had considered buying clear blue digital but then seeing a lot of people saying how unpredictable they are I decided it's a bad idea as probably just cause unnecessary worry!

The digital clear blue are a waste of money but I used one of the normal one’s on otd. I totally agree no need to question all those tests, not likely to have had a false positive on all of them! Xx
I know you sort of feel better if there are symptoms. I do know lots of people who didn’t have any symptoms for their whole pregnancy so not always a bad thing. And still early days! Xx
Yeah all my friends have children and only one had symptoms from 5 weeks. The rest either barley had any symptoms or they didn't start until between 6-8 weeks so still very early days 🙂 Xxx
I'd probably stop testing everyday as you'll be driving yourselves mad. I tested for 4-5 days after my bfp and I worried myself sick thinking about the line strength. Can I ask what Internet brand you used? X
I know but it becomes addictive it's really hard not too. Just try and enjoy your BFP and get your other half too he needs to believe it's real and this it happening. All the best x
Hi there I’ve been having similar with iffeeent lines being stronger and lighter and stronger again. Different brands perform differently. Try not to worry. I’m still waiting for my beta results - went to gp and have to wait til next week for results. It’s almost as hard as the tww. Today is the first days I’ve not poas. Got a speedy strong line on a Tesco normal test yesterday so I’m sticking with it xx
I did a google search of pregnancy test with beta and it shows various brands but the first response so seem to be fainter with high beta and cheapies seem to have stronger lines so I'm sticking with that theory to make me feel more reassured 😂😂
So pleased you got your positive! Such a long wait for your beta though which is a shame 🙁I only had hours to wait and that was bad enough!!
I got strong on the first response ones but not so strong on the ICs - strange isn’t it? It’s my own fault I could have paid £44 at the clinic for same day but thought that was a bit cheeky. They only do a yes no blood test.

I’m ok - was a bit tired to start with but now I seem to have quite a lot of energy which worries me - everything worries me! Sore boobs still and the odd twinge here and there but otherwise pretty normal. How about you?
My first response at 10dp5dt was as strong as it could go, just odd to go slightly less strong further along but cheap tests weren't strong and now are so I guess every test is different depending on where you are in the pregnancy.

Mines was 270 at 10dp5dt.
I'm feeling petty normal too, boobs occasionally sore and getting acid reflux. Also had a few emotional days but that's it, feeling pretty normal.
Hoping to wake up really ill with symptoms soon though 🤞🤞 lol xxx

Docs surgery said a couple of days so prob Mon or Tues but blood clinic said a week and when I phoned doc yesterday they said a week but to try on Tues. I hope I don’t have to wait til Thursday. Your one was high I think? Xx

Mines seemed to be in the range for 4 weeks. Think it said between 5 - 426ml is normal at 4 weeks so kinda in he middle?! Clinic told me they look for 50+ at that stage. Xxx
Hey! I’ve had really faint lines for three days, they don’t seem to be getting darker which is worrying me so I can totally sympathise With all of you still testing! Has anyone else experience any brown spotting since their BFP? Xxx
I've had no brown spotting although have read on here people who do and all is ok. Brown is usually old blood, I think red blood which is fresh is when there is more cause for concern xxx
