Iv been injecting for the last couple of days and have now started on my 2nd injection which hurts I think it's called cetrodite. Iv had my scan today and my follicles are growing nicely and my lining is thickening as normal.
I do feel tired and have slight headache is this normal?
Overall it feels like this whole process is a blur and I may be having egg collection on Monday which I don't even know how I feel about.
Any advice about this whole journey right now would be helpful as I just feel lost xxx

I felt exactly the same as you! The injections were a complete blur and the days seemed to slip away. I felt tired mostly and one day had a bad headache. I was really worried about egg collection, but in the end it was fine. It's easy to say, but try not to worry too much. It's definitely a scary and nerve racking process though. This group has helped me to stay sane! Wishing you lots of luck xx
I had headaches and felt completely wiped out during stimming of my last cycle. I think this part of the journey does go so fast and your right it's like a blur. Rest when you can and try and stay relaxed for EC (I know easier said than done) but it's not as bad as you imagine. I think the unknown is what makes it so much harder xx
You are completely right! I was terrified of the first egg collection with shakey legs in the stirrups and everything (embarrassing!) but felt incredible when I came round afterwards...was honestly the best sleep I've ever had. It's hard to believe, but it soon becomes routine
When I was doing the injections I always seemed to find that Bemfola made me feel a bit woozy for a bit right after doing it, and Cetrotide is just a bit (very!) itchy and red at the injection site for about 20 mins but then goes.
strong-girl you sound exactly like I felt to begin with. Everything seems to be so intense and you learn a lot about your body and the meds/procedures in such a short space of time. Thank goodness for these forums and Google...oh, and our nurse who answered all of our (sometimes ridiculous) questions!
I don't tend to post on forums much, but they've been my lifeline throughout the entire process.
Sounds a bit bizarre, but after 3 egg collections, I then felt a bit lost knowing they were finished just as we'd got used to what to do/how to do the injections/what to expect etc!
Just take each day a step at a time and try to stay chilled out as much as is possible. Sorry for such a long post!
I've been using cetrodite for a few days now. I don't really find it painful but a little itchy afterwards. I too should have my egg collection on Monday. I don't seem tired but noticed my trousers seemed a bit tighter today so think I'm starting to get a little bloated xx
The cetrodite needle is bigger aswell and I agree about the itchiness. All the best for Monday hope it goes well, I will find out on Saturday when mine is.
I'm on day 5, had first cetrotide injection today but used the syringe and needle provided with the menopur to do it as the needle is not as long as the one that comes with the centrotide! X
Hi I'm a few days behind I started my first menopur injections 3 days ago and the cetrodite injections are due to start this Sunday i totally agree it all feels like a complete blur but hang on in there not too much longer to go🙂... I am also very nervous about EC, can anybody give me an honest account of what to expect ? Xxx
You're one day behind me! I was shocked that the cetrotide is a whole syringe full! Much more liquid than the menopur! And it makes the skin a bit red and itchy too but not for long. X
Hi, I was so worried about egg collection but I was completely looked after at the clinic and thanks to the sedation didn’t know anything until I was waking up in recovery. It was pain free and very quick. Hoping it will be the same next time I have to go through it! Xx
I start menopur then centrotide next week for my first round! Eeek! Nice to read about all of you currently doing this. Good luck everyone! My last pill was yesterday but I've been having a period since Sunday, that's my only worry x
Don't worry too much about the period due to the pill mine extended and I asked the nurse she said it can have all sorts of effects. All the best of luck private message me If u want I'm more than happy to chat and compare cycles. Xxx
Thank you so much strong girl - great name for what we are all going through! Good luck for your egg collection next week - hope it's smooth and painless and that you get a bumper harvest! Xx
Scarlett I'm also going through my first cycle and tbh the injections aren't as bad as I thought my abdomen is a little swollen but otherwise I feel ok... and I was bleeding when I started my injections the clinic said this was normal....I guess one of the hardest things is dealing with questions a work, I would rather have just kept it to myself but have had to tell a few people to be able to get the time of work for all of the appointments. Good luck #wecandothis x
Thanks for your message, glad to hear that the injections aren't as bad for you as you thought - just hope I'm all ready to go with the injections once I've had my baseline scan on Tuesday. Im based in Kent. I think everyone I work with knows about my ivf now but oh well, they're all lovely and supportive - good luck - when's your EC? Xx
Yes... thats the first hurdle but the chances are if you have had a period you should be fine, I think they look at uterine lining and oestradiol levels at the baseline scan. Best of luck, let us know how you get on xx
Anticipated week of EC is at some point on the week commencing 16th, I still feel like there are a few hurdle to get over before this though as my first scan to check the drugs are doing what they should be doing is on Monday 🤞
Hello hope eveything is okay. I want to know when you started taking the injections, did the nurse watch you put the injection in your body. Or did they just just tell you what to do ?
I took my first injection about 15 days ago. The nurse guided us but my hubby injected me. I was really worried about the injections but they were the easy part believe me you will be fine. Xxxx
They gave me a diary that also reminded us how to make the drugs and administrate
Private message me if u have any questions I'm happy to help
Hi all! I’m on day 5 of my injections but I don’t have any idea when my EC is but some of you appear to know already. Were you told before your injections started? Hope you don’t mind my asking! Thanks xx
