Hi everyone, I hope some of you lovely ladies or Diane can advise..our final ivf cycle ended in May with a chemical pregnancy, I started bleeding after a positive pregnancy test and that period was heavier etc, as expected.
The one after that seemed normal for me and came after 31 days, which again is normal for me, however it was very light. The one after that took 44 days, which is very unusual for me, again light.
Then this months, although a normal cycle length for me at 29 days, was 7 days long which is long for me as they're usually about 4 days long. It was also light for the first 3 days then got heavier on day 4, very strange!
Does this sound normal after 2 years of fertility treatment? I know my body has been through a lot but even when I had fairly long breaks between cycles, my periods went back to normal pretty much straight away..so this unpredictably is unsettling me. Hope someone can advise!
Xx

Hey, sorry to hear about your loss! I had a MC around 8 week though it was natural pregnancy. But, had whimsical periods for about 6 months down the line. I wasn't on any medication during that time, not even pills. I missed an AF (5th or 6th one, I'm a bit confused with it myself) and then got a very light period around 60 days. If it weren't the BFNs, I would have believed I'm pregnant. But everything got back to normal after that. The AF was on time (I've a 32 day cycle) and exact 5 days. I never got pregnant again though and recently opted for fertility treatments. I've heard that chemical pregnancy too is same. Maybe, it's just the body's own way to get back normal, you need to wait till 6 months I guess to know for sure.
Thanks! I'm scheduled for IUI in December. So, I guess all I have to do is wait till then. The forum will be helpful to keep my spirit and hope up in the meanwhile.
Hi Georgina78. So sorry to hear that you have suffered a chemical pregnancy, and hope you're getting plenty of support. More often than not a pregnancy that ends early on following treatment, such as yours does, tends to upset your hormones for longer than a normally conceived loss. This is not set in stone, but it is thought it happens due to the regulation of hormones throughout treatment, then the body has to readjust again. Occasionally, women need to be "kick started" back into what is normal for them, but this is left for a few months to see if you manage it on your own. Hope this helps and all soon settles back down again. Thinking of you. Diane
Thanks so much Diane, that's really helpful. My last cycle was 29 days which is within the normal range for me so hopefully things are starting to settle down now x
