Before we started round 4, we thought it would be a good idea to speak to the designated fertility counsellor with our clinic. I have been struggling a lot lately so before we start our second Fresh harvest I just wanted to speak to someone about it.
It was really good to hear that how I am feeling is perfectly normal and made me feel less nuts. I also have some frustrations with our clinic and she advised me best how to speak to the clinic about this. It was very emotional but we found it helpful just in case anyone was wondering whether to go or not.
So delighted to see all the good news on here lately, definitely keeps me going.

So glad you found the counselling beneficial. I to spoke to a counsellor before starting our 4th cycle who recommended this forum to me, I found it helped get me in a good head space. Lots of luck for when you start xx
Yeah I'm doing alright thanks, going for EC tomorrow so proof counselling and the support from here does help. I'm sure your emotionally drained at the mo from talking but hope your okay to x
I have me follow up on sept 7 so I reckon they ll start me after that. Do you mind me asking did they do more tests after your 3rd cycle failed or did they go with the same protocol? I have had one ectopic, ine misscarraige and last round it didn't even take. Just want more tests into what the problem is before we start a fresh harvest X
Course not, sorry to hear all you've been through. I've had 1 fresh cycle but miscarried and then 2 unsuccessful FET's. I asked for my NK cells to be tested but my consultant said he doesn't like the test (apparently some consultants are for it and some are against) but after saying my reasons why he agreed to put me on steroids which is what the treatment for NK cells are. I also opted against the endo scratch this cycle unlike my 2 FET but otherwise he kept everything the same as I responded well to my fresh cycle last year. I would definitely push for more tests, have you had all fresh cycles? X
Thank you for sharing and I'm so sorry that you have gone through such a tough journey too. I've had 1 fresh ( ectopic) and 2 frozen. I have never had the scratch and was hoping to get it this time. My consultant not a fan of the NK testing either. I just feel like at least If I'm doing more tests I'm being more pro active than going through the motions. We are with the NHS so I'm not sure how asking for more tests works. How you feeling for tomorrow? X
Oh really, Im NHS funded to but you can pay for NK tests and the scratch - I hear a lot of positive stories from people have the scratch so it might be something to consider. The only reason I've not this cycle is cause my first fresh cycle I didn't and fell pregnant where as the 2x I had it were unsuccessful so even my consultant agreed I go against the 'norm' (nothing new there haha).
I'm getting a little nervous but I think that's cause I'm putting more pressure on myself - I got good quality embryos last year and I'm worried if this cycle isn't as good il become quite deflated as all year I've kind of puts my hopes to a fresh cycle being 'the one' x
God it's just bizzarre hoe it's so different for everyone. I was thinking of asking for it for the opposite reason! We willing to pay for Any tests that may help alright.
It's so normal for you to feel like that, I feel like that too about r fresh cycle. Please god you get a good harvest tomorrow. Be sure to post and let us know how you get on X
So true, yeah definitely and like you say I think it helps going into another cycle knowing there's something your doing differently. It is crazy how much clinics differ and the cost, my scratch was £230 but I know someone else on here said there's was around £150.
I know keeping everything crossed, Thank you I will do x
Hey Mrs glad the counselling helped and that is so so brave you going for it..gearing up again is always tough but hopefully that support and time has made you stronger xx
