Once a month I seem to get a really bad dose of Mouth Ulcers they are so painful and tend to appear on my tongue making it very difficult to eat and sometimes talk, this has been going on for a while now, the last few months I've also been getting sores on the corners of my mouth and really chapped lips as well, I also had an awful dose of Oral Thrush as well it just seems to be a monthly occurrence that I have these issues. I've been to the dentist and the doctors, the doctor did some bloods which all came back fine apart from my zinc levels were slightly low, although the doctor said no further action was needed as well as taking pregnacare I've started taking some extra zinc as well.
My question is does anyone else suffer with this? any tips on how to make it less painful - I've tried every mouthwash and gel going! x

Hi I am the same I've been getting mouth ulcers since childhood more recently they happen when I'm worried or stressed. Ive just gotten over a nasty one on my tongue making it so hard to eat and drink and keeping me awake. Bonjela helps but you probably know about that. This time I used Corsodyl mouthwash and it cleared in two days. But, before it cleared fully it helped me sleep from the first time I used it I really felt my mouth was cleaner and fresher!!! x
Hi Shanks_21. Have you tried taking some Vitamin C supplement,. Sometimes when you get a persistent fungal infection, you sometimes need a systemic type of treatment (something to swallow) in case it is coming back up from your stomach or bowels, I don't know but worth asking. Hope all soon settles down for you. Diane
Thanks Diane I'll try that I already take pregnacare and extra zinc. I start my first round of IVF a week today and don't want anything hindering our chances of success x
I get mouth ulcers when stressed, and totally understand how bad they can be. I recently changed jobs and stopped getting them!
Corsodyl mouthwash and adult strength gel that you get over the counter at the pharmacy helped (can't remember the name but it began with 'a'). Also taking regular painkillers half an hour before meals so you can eat, and cut out chocolate and sweet foods when you have them.
