I'm so sorry for your loss πŸ˜”

My understanding, from info gained on the thyroiduk site, is that it can take several months to get the correct dosage sorted out to bring the TSH levels down to the levels needed to maintain a healthy pregnancy. You should have your blood tested 3 months after starting the levo, then they'll adjust the dosage if necessary (usually the case). What was your TSH level (with range if possible) and what dosage meds do you have?

The good news is that many do go on to have a healthy baby once the dosage is sorted, once a bfp is confirmed it is very important that the gp increases the dosage and keeps a check on your bloods regularly xx

hi I've got hypothyroidism and I'm on 150mcg levothyroxine. took us nearly 6 years to get and stay pregnant, and my TSH was almost 4 and my fertility consultant wouldn't treat us unless it was below 2.5

for me to feel well i need mine to be under 1

we had a Mc at 8 weeks before thyroid was flagged up.

if you are already pregnant you will.be put under a endocrine consultant who will keep a close eye on you. You need a repeat blood every six weeks (important) especially in your first trimester before baby uses its own thyroid.

there us no reason you won't carry to term if your well medicated β˜ΊπŸ™‚ xxxx

I was borderline, my tsh kept being in the 4's and no one would do anything. Saw someone privately as I couldn't help but think it was linked to my two miscarriages (spent years not getting pregnant, metformin got my cycles more on track and I then got pregnant only to lose... Was hell, then nothing for like 10 months after the last miscarriage). The private endocrinologist pointed out that the NICE guidelines for those trying and those pregnant is for a tsh under 2, and wrote to my gp stating that.

I started levothyroxine and my first cycle on it was better than those before. The next one I fell pregnant and still am (22+5 today). My level only needed a little nudge though, the drugs take forever to get into your system due to a 7-10 day half life so it really does take like a month before you have in your system the level amount of the dose you are on, so then similar amount of time any time the amount is put up. So realistically, when I started them in January I expected to not really see results till September, to give time for it to get up to strength, any changes in dose be made and me then settle on them and allow a few cycles for my lining to improve (was getting thinner and thinner but that seems to be because high tsh can raise your prolactin levels which mine had done which then throws off how the lining builds up...but no one would do anything even though I was lucky to need two pads for a whole period because I had had complex hyperplasia before going on the metformin).

So yeah, sorry rather a lot of waffle, but I really don't think I would have got this far without the levothyroxine, I really believe it is what sorted everything out. It managed it in about 3 months for me, but I didn't need much of a dose and only a little tweak really. I would really suggest sticking with it and give it time!

Hello .

Sorry for your loss.

I've had 4 misscarriages and ended up at misscarriage clinic everything was fine apart from my thyroid . I was diagnosed subclinical with my thyroid and they put he losses down to not being medicated for it. I am pregnant again with twins and everything seems to be going ok this time around. Medications can help sometimes. All the very best to yourself xx

I mentioned that I was already on fertility treatment. (Chlomid) I had asked also about the link to child loss and thyroid problems which I was told was linked . They then put me on thyroxine . Within 2 months of taking it I found out I was pregnant again . Xx
