I've been a bit quiet lately as I had a bit of a hard time dealing with things and felt really low for a while and isolated my self a little.
I had a hospital appointment yesterday to see the consultant after being on Clomid for 6 months, unfortunately the tablets didn't work for me so I've decided to go ahead with IVF again. There's a 3 month waiting list so my appointment won't be until 22nd September but I'm feeling positive that there's something in place. In the mean time the doctor gave me Letrozole tablets to take instead of clomid, has anyone been on these tablets before? And did they work for you? What side effects did you have?

3 months soon come around, I've waited over a year and I've still got 45 days to go till my start day. (I have a countdown app it's good gives you a little hope that it's approaching nearer,
I wish you well on your journey, take care, & try think positive (easier said than done I know )
Hi Beauty1984. Letrozole has been shown to induce ovulation in women who do not ovulate. For this reason, some infertility specialists are using the drug in women who cannot tolerate or who do not respond well to Clomid.
Both letrozole and clomiphene stimulate the ovary to release eggs, but by slightly different means. Clomiphene prevents estrogen from binding to cells and triggers the pituitary to signal the release of the egg. Letrozole prevents estrogen from being produced, thereby influencing the brain's hypothalamus and the pituitary glands to trigger an egg's release. Hope it works for you. Diane
Thanks Diane, I hope it works too. I'm trying to stay as positive as I can x
Hi lovely, glad to see you back. I was given both clomid & letrozol & neither worked for me. I had a couple of side effects from letrozol - dizziness & mood swings, was also a bit more snappy but other than that ok. I did find that I had the most awful ovulation pain on letrozol for a month or 2 - I felt like I was going to throw up or pass out from the pain. This may well have been me & a bit unusual (really don't want to worry you!)
I'm sure the next few months will go quickly for you -the good weather will help. Xxxxx
Good luck beauty. I'm glad your feeling more positive I always had to be trying something even if it was something silly so I felt like I was doing something and not standing still. Best of luck keep us updated 🍀🍀💫 xx
Hi and welcome back beauty 😘 Sorry to hear you've been feeling low, totally understand this, but glad you're feeling a bit stronger and have a plan. I don't know anything about Letrozole but I just wanted to wish you lots of luck with your next cycle xx
