How to know I'm ok/not ok fertility wise

Hi everyone!

I have been watching from the side lines for a few days now. What a fantastic community this is, really pleased I stumbled across this network.

My husband and I have been ttc for almost 2 years. Our first port of call was seeing our GP to check both of us out. I did a blood test on day 2 of my cycle and day 21. The doctor was happy with the results. I also had a scan and again the doctor was satisfied that everything was normal. I guess what I'm asking is, could there be other factors affecting my fertility that wouldn't have been accounted for through the two blood tests and scan?

We are waiting to have a consultation regarding IVF and I'm worried a new problem is going to surface😔

My husband has slow mobility but he did a new sample after taking medication and the mobility stats have improved.

Thanks everybody

P.s. sorry if I didn't use the correct lingo, I'm still learning☺

Hi. Infertility is not only a women thing. What did the doctor said about your husband? did he have more test, like a sperm test?

Hi Willad!🙋

Yes my husband has had two semen tests and the first results showed his sperm mobility was lower than it should be but now three months later his second semen test the results came back more positive. It was his low mobility result that spurred us on to take action.

I'm just worried there may be more surprises ahead of us if that makes sense.

Hi sounds like you've made a good start on testing. There are other things like testing to see if you tubes are blocked or have any problems too. You doctor/ clinic should follow a set routine of tests to rule out any other possibility preventing conception

Hi Hun it's not bad or painful just maybe uncomfortable for however long it takes to flush the liquid through. Good luck with your next steps xx

Aw don't worry about the tubes test Hun, it sounds worse than it actually is. I got myself a bit worked up about it but it was no worse than a smear but with cramps that feel like AF, but certainly no worse than that and they let you see the results there and then 😀. Good luck with your journey x x x
