Jesus you think after 3 years of waiting to fall pregnant id be more calm and just enjoy it but my god I just want my 12 week scan already. I had one by fluke by my op consultant at 7 weeks then we paid private for one at 9 weeks and everything was fine both times but I'm still freaking out. I only have to wait until next Thursday but I don't think I can. I'm debating booking another private scan this week as I'm really worried something is up and we have a lot on the following week and id rather just know in advance. All my symptoms seemed to vanish around 9.5 weeks which really worried me due to googling ( I know, I know stupid me) but there still gone and I just want to check everything Is still ok because when I phoned my community midwife she said if your not in a lot of pain or bleeding they wont do anything :-(. I get everything is probably fine but I just want to know for sure.
Hope everyone is getting on well with their cycles/pregnancy's xx

If it gives you peace of mind I would just book a private one xx
It's a nightmare having to wait isn't it we had a 7 week one at the ivf clinic and my 12 weeks wasn't till today and Im 13 weeks so we paid for one last week just to put our minds at rest, everything was fine and again today all looked good. I would book it if you think it will calm your nerves a bit it did mine x
I'd be the same when it hopefully happens to me, I'd be constantly worried and anxious until had the baby in my arms lol wishing you all the best throughout your pregnancy xx
I've had the 6 weeks clinic scan followed by a weekly digital pee on a stick test to make sure the number of weeks was tracking up. Then a private scan at 8 weeks for reassurance.
I then found a harmony package in London that included a ten week and twelve week scan. I've also had the nhs 12 week scan.
The private London scan and the nhs scan were like night and day. The 12 week nhs one basically counted limbs, said the baby had a brain and a heartbeat, measured the back of the neck and we were done in ten minutes.
The London one at 12 weeks was 45 minutes by a dr going through all the organs and blood flow to and from them. We even looked at heart valves! It really gave reassurance. Mind you getting over the 12 week hurdle felt like a huge relief Aswell!
I've had hardly any symptoms. Nothing with boobs no morning sickness but I did get extremely tired. Just had the af cramps all the way through and those front ligament pains.
I'd go with the mantra 'no blood, alls good'
Oh I also bought a Doppler machine. £25 or something like that and although I was listening to my own heartbeat for two weeks, at 10 weeks I picked up the correct one! My husband calls it zippy fm and once you find it it's easy to pick up and Its stopped me booking scans. The midwife advises against them for late in pregnancy reassurance as you should rely on movement not heartbeat so I got told off on my last appointment but I told her I wouldn't use it later on and it's more of an entertainment thing at the moment!
Anyone feel free to message me if they want the name of the London clinic or the Doppler.
I'm now at 17.5 weeks and the bumps showing but trying to figure out if I'm feeling movement. Supposed to be all fluttery yet I get stitch and aches! Still a bit early I guess. I keep thinking when does the worrying stop, my mum informed me never and to get used to it.
Thank you for the reply. I didn't want to get a Doppler as I feel it would cause more anxiety if I used it wrong. I have booked another scan for Friday this week and then I will have my NHS scan the following Thursday and that should be me past the danger zone so hopefully I can chill :-). I just worried as until 9.5 weeks I did have symptoms like nausea etc but after that point it all just stopped so want to make sure everything is fine x
I think there were a couple of occasions where I couldn't get the heartbeat so a little panic set in. I did ask at the scans where she was and because she's at the front it was easier to find. They also gave me the general idea of where she was in relation to the belly button so i knew where to hone in the search. The midwife at the 16 week appointment warned about not being a heartbeat. I wad like no, I can pick it up fine and its about there and she got it and then i got my telling off....
I started to panic this week as the stupid security bloke at the airport let go of a heavy glass gate that snapped back and hit me right in the bump and ripped my dress. I nearly lamped him and he said i charged the gate! I said I'm not a hippo and i don't charge security with armed police around and raised a complaint.
But then i read that people have fallen down stairs and been ok and it wasn't that hard a bash. The joy of pregnancy hormones.
Good luck with the scans. From 10 weeks it actually starts resembling a baby rather than a blob. X
Oh god I think my husband in that situation would have lamped him one if he got there before me hahaha. Ye at 9 weeks its resembled a baby as well and we got to hear the heart beat I'm excited to see the difference between then and now. I just want everything to be ok then we can tell people after my NHS scan YAY! x
Ive got my 12 week scan on 25th july and it feels so long away i had a scan at 6 and 7+2 weeks but rly want to see my twinnies again, i was feeling sick for days and extremely tired but it feels iike all my symptoms have gone xx
That's what happened to me just after 9 weeks they just vanished and I freaked out so I've managed to hold off this long so I booked the private scan just for peace of mind x
I can so much relate! 1 week and 6 days until our 12-week scan (at 13 weeks 1 day). Have been so tempted to get one private as the 7w2d feels ages ago but boyfriend says I just need to relax... Bring on 11 July!
Glad to read you booked the scan, anything to reassure yourself it doesn't matter. My panic was the 20 weeks as it seemed so far after the 12weeks. You might find your symptoms come back or you could just be lucky! Once your baby starts to move and wiggle I think you will feel better because you will know he/she is ok in there. I'm sure everything is fine x
Thanks for the reply I'm sure once I'm over the 12 weeks I will be able to keep myself under control but my NHS scan isn't until I'm nearly 13 weeks anyways so I thought why not just book one if it makes me feel better haha! I joked with my husband saying I should just get a weekly pass for the private clinic or a come whenever you like pass. The NHS only scan or check if your bleeding or in severe pain which I don't think is fair if its causing you anxiety surely for all the 5 minutes it takes to have a quick look to put people at ease would be worth it or even have a Doppler in pharmacy's so you can go in and check the heartbeat is still there xx
